{"id":165113,"date":"2024-01-05T09:33:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-05T08:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=165113"},"modified":"2024-01-05T09:55:33","modified_gmt":"2024-01-05T08:55:33","slug":"singapore-airport-without-a-passport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/singapore-airport-without-a-passport","title":{"rendered":"Singapore airport to go passport-free in 2024..."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A whole new world is opening up to business travellers in 2024. <strong>The airport of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/singapour-paris-cdg-skytrax-20230405.html\/\">Singapore Changi<\/a> <\/strong>is to launch the <strong>passenger screening using biometric technology, in particular facial recognition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The combination of the two technologies will eliminate the need for passengers to present passports and boarding cards.<\/strong>. Full biometrics is the first step towards a future where going through an airport will be almost as easy as taking the metro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The switch to full biometrics will give <strong>Changi airport takes another step forward<\/strong> on other airports around the world. \"\u00a0<em><strong>Biometrics will be used to create a single point of authentication<\/strong>. It will then be used at various automated contact points, from baggage drop-off to immigration and boarding.<\/em>\" explained a few months ago <strong>Josephine Teo, the country's Minister of Communications<\/strong>. \"\u00a0<em>Passengers will no longer have to present their travel documents several times at these contact points. This will make processing smoother and more convenient.<\/em>\" said the Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-premier-aeroport-au-monde-pour-la-rapidite\">The world's fastest airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 5 million passengers pass through Changi airport every month. That's <strong>almost 60 million passengers by 2023<\/strong>. However, the hub's traffic is still 15% below its 2019 record. At that time, Changi welcomed 68.3 million passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speed and efficiency are therefore essential to the airport's fluidity. Even if check-in, transit and disembarkation times are already among the shortest in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister for Communications added that Singapore will become \"\u00a0<strong>one of the first countries in the world \"to introduce such changes<\/strong>.
