The next two conferences<\/a> of Aviation-Event<\/strong> will be held on 15 March in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, followed by Chisinau, Moldova, on 30 May. The first will focus on the environment and, above all, the integration of AI into airport services. The second will focus on Moldova as an aviation market and the future of aviation in the Balkans and Central Europe. Both conferences will feature a number of experts, including airline and airport CEOs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There's a lot of talk about the environment at aviation conferences. How do you feel about this?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Marcel Riwalsky - <\/strong>The environment has, of course, been an issue for many years. It is fundamental to the transformation of the aviation industry and commercial aviation. When we organise an event like the Aviation-Event, it's one of the subjects that comes up on our partners' wish lists. It is therefore interesting to highlight the progress made in this area. However, I have to say that it's not the number 1 topic for the general public or even the non-specialist media. Fares, punctuality, the range of airlines on offer, the influence of low-cost airlines, crisis management - such as airport congestion - and new aircraft on the market are more the focus of attention. And that's what we're trying to address through this type of conference. It also depends on the market for which you are organising an event. For example, the UK and Scandinavian countries are certainly more sensitive to environmental issues than Eastern Europe or the Balkans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the state of play in terms of digitalisation and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in the aviation sector?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Marcel Riwalsky - <\/strong>Here too, the subject is generating interest, particularly among professionals. It is less of a recurring theme among consumers, except when digital technologies help to improve travel conditions at airports. As for AI, this is the first time that this theme has been addressed in our series of conferences. We'll see what emerges at Cluj-Napoca, where the topic will be addressed...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of your conferences are held in Central and Eastern Europe. Why this choice?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Marcel Riwalsky - <\/strong>That's right: some of Aviation-Event's conferences are held in Central Europe. We have already organised two previous conferences in Cluj-Napoca, Romania's second largest airport. But also in Baia Mare, also in Romania, at Vienna <\/a>and we are now preparing two more conferences in 2024. The first in May in Chisinau, Moldova and the second at the end of the year in Sofia. In fact, Central Europe and the Balkans is probably where the greatest potential for growth in air transport on our continent<\/strong>. Passenger numbers there are growing by an average of 30% a year, and this is set to continue. What's more, this March conference in Cluj-Napoca comes at the perfect time for the Romania<\/strong>. It will become member of the Schengen area <\/strong><\/a>on 31 March, 15 days after our event. This should further boost air traffic in this part of Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
