Of the <strong>919 mobile professionals<\/strong> surveyed in North America and EMEA, <strong>81% simply do not hire electric vehicles<\/strong>. 13% would 'rarely' try it, and there are only 1% aficionados who systematically opt for this type of rental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/location-voiture-electrique-freins-20220719.html\/\" data-id=\"127983\">Electric vehicles: obstacles to leasing<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>What accounts for this reluctance among business customers? Not surprisingly <strong>logistical constraints<\/strong> - particularly in terms of recharging - remain the main obstacle. The risk of not finding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flotauto.com\/accorinvest-recharge-20250227.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">terminal <\/a>is cited by 46 % of business travellers. And in 33% of cases, the range of electric vehicles, and therefore the need for frequent recharging, is cited as a problem. Another factor holding back the growth of electric vehicles in the business travel segment is that the range is still too limited. 35% of those surveyed mentioned a <strong>availability too low<\/strong> in the rental agency catalogue. In fact, almost one out of every two drivers of hire cars (46%) assumes that their choice is not <strong>never influenced by its impact on the environment<\/strong>... Only 9% of those surveyed really attach importance to this criterion on a regular basis. And just 4% of companies would encourage electric car hire. It should be noted that the geographical breakdown of the study gives a predominant place to the UK.<strong>North America<\/strong>which represents 68% of the panel, compared with 32% for the <strong>Europe, Africa and Middle East<\/strong> (EMEA). This is a significant factor in reading the report. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"283\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/bcd-travel-2024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-167363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/bcd-travel-2024.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/bcd-travel-2024-300x121-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>The impact on the environment: a criterion that is becoming increasingly important <br>in the background for business travellers <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>\" <em>This survey shows that there remains a major challenge in promoting the use of vehicles<\/em><br><em>electricity for business travel<\/em> \"Olivia Ruggles-Brise, BCD's Vice President for Sustainability, sums up the situation. \" <em>This reflects wider challenges such as infrastructure and range that are impacting the adoption of EVs in general. Nevertheless, the shift from petrol to electric vehicles will become increasingly important as new legislation requires companies to measure and report the carbon emissions of their business travel.<\/em> \"she adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/uber-carrefour-bornes-recharge-20231212.html\/\" data-id=\"164059\">Electric charging: Uber and Carrefour make common cause<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-highlight-box\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-satisfaction-et-compliance-au-rendez-vous-de-l-experience-voyageur\">Satisfaction and compliance for the traveller experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to this reluctance on the part of business customers to use electric cars - a trend that deserves to be refined at regional level, given the wide geographical and cultural differences when it comes to eco-responsibility - what does this new study tell us? <strong>BCD Travel<\/strong> ? Firstly, nomadic professionals are on the whole <strong>satisfied <\/strong>by their rental experience. Eight out of ten travellers say they are 'fairly' or 'extremely' satisfied with the car rental policy of their company and its suppliers. And with good reason: the majority (64%) of business travellers have never experienced <strong>no problem<\/strong> with their company's car rental policy over the last twelve months. In the end, their main complaint concerned the low availability of the fleet (33%) and the availability of their preferred type of car (29%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another finding of the BCD Travel study is that, unlike other areas of business travel, the <strong>compliance <\/strong>seems a good idea when it comes to hiring a vehicle. The <strong>travel policy<\/strong> of the company is the most influential criterion in travellers' choice (69%). This is followed by the convenience of the pick-up location (46%), price (34%) and loyalty programmes (33%). What's more, the vast majority of business travellers book their vehicle via their company's online tool (88%). Only 13% of professionals use a travel agent, and 12% go directly via the rental company's website.<\/p>\n<\/aside>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A worldwide study by BCD Travel confirms the lack of interest among business travellers in renting electric vehicles.
