30 billion euros<\/strong>, the most top<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> revenues<\/strong> recorded in its history!<\/strong> The Air France-KLM group reported good results for the past year, with a 14% increase in turnover compared with 2022. At the same time, net profit rose by 206 million euros to 934 million euros, while net debt stood at 5.0 billion euros, representing an improvement of 1.3 billion euros compared with 2022.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

According to Benjamin Smith, the Group's Chief Executive Officer, \"By 2023, we will have delivered on our commitments by solid operating and financial performances,<\/strong> while maintaining our position as the benchmark airline group in terms of sustainable development. We are pleased to have been able to further strengthen our balance sheet and restore the Group's equity. We also passed a historic order for fifty Airbus A350s<\/strong>We have also signed an agreement to acquire a further forty aircraft, accelerating the renewal of our fleet. These latest-generation aircraft reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and the noise footprint. They also offer a more pleasant experience for our customers,\" he added.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Return of the network and yields<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In detail, unit revenue per passenger (yield) improved by 6.1% <\/strong>on the entire network in 2023. But the strongest growth was seen on long-haul routes (+8.9%), driven by the Caribbean\/Indian Ocean network, up 19.3%. While yield increased by 8% in one year, Premium classes grew more slowly<\/strong>to just 4.4%. This clearly reflects the slow recovery in the business market.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As far as the current year is concerned, 2024 will be characterised by a network and capacities greater than 2019<\/strong>. By continent, Europe has an index 110 compared to 2019 with 194 destinations, North America an index 114 with 29 destinations and Africa an index 100 with 31 destinations. By contrast, Asia\/Middle East has an index 77 with 23 destinations and Latin America an index 93 with 13 destinations.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n

\"We have also confirmed our position as the world's leading user of sustainable aviation fuel, demonstrating our determination to take full advantage of this decarbonisation lever to achieve our sustainability objectives. In 2024, one of our priorities will be to continue to strengthen our performance by continuing to implement our strategy\", said Benjamin Smith. The company is buying 16% of global sustainable fuel production<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Transavia France struggling<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2024 will be special with the 20th anniversary of the Air France-KLM Group and the staging of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in France, for which Air France is the official sponsor. Transavia<\/a> understood, the Group plans to capacity in available seat kilometres<\/strong> up 5% in 2024<\/strong> compared with 2023.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Transavia France had a difficult year in 2023, with VRF and leisure markets shaken in the Maghreb and the Middle East (Morocco, Egypt, Israel and Jordan). The introduction in April of the payment for cabin baggage <\/strong>on Transavia will help the airline to return to profitability,\" emphasised Anne Rigail, Air France's Chief Executive Officer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Air France has also confirmed that all domestic routes from Orly will be transferred to Transavia by 2026.<\/strong>Some passengers now prefer to travel by train on routes that would previously have been unacceptable by train. \"Some passengers now prefer to take the train on routes that would previously have been considered prohibitive by train.
