So what is the typical profile of an event manager? What training, what career path and what sector of activity are most commonly represented in the role of event manager? What are the criteria for success, and the level of fulfilment? These are just some of the questions that the new study published on 11 March<\/strong> by the Event Managers Association (EMA)<\/strong> provides some very interesting answers, even though the study focuses exclusively on the association's domestic market: theSpain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what is the typical profile of an event manager? What training, what career path and what sector of activity are most commonly represented in the role of event manager? What are the criteria for success, and the level of fulfilment? These are just some of the questions that the new study published on 11 March<\/strong> by the Event Managers Association (EMA)<\/strong> provides some very interesting answers, even though the study focuses exclusively on the association's domestic market: theSpain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first thing to note from this data is the overwhelming preponderance of women, who account for 8 out of 10 event managers (80.4%). In terms of generation, people in their forties come out on top (38.3%), just ahead of those aged 50-59 (34.6%). A Master's degree is the highest level of education (53.1%) among the event managers surveyed. On average, they have 10 years service<\/strong> in their company, including 8 in this position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the profile of their employer, it comes as no great surprise that the pharmaceutical sector is the most represented (25.2%), ahead of the new technologies sector (20.4%). Large\" companies (more than 250 employees) are - again logically - in the majority (76%).<\/p>\n\n\n

Ultimately, the key findings of the EMA study may lie elsewhere. At least for the younger members of the profession who are hesitating to join. If the testimonies gathered by the Spanish association are to be believed, the satisfaction rate <\/strong>of event managers is positive overall: 50% of those surveyed said they were very satisfied with their job, and 21% said they were fairly satisfied. On the other hand, working conditions do not seem to satisfy all event managers. Only 10% of them said they were really satisfied on this point. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
