It ensures that the company complies with safety rules, identifies hazards and mitigates risks. And that it manages safety effectively\", said a spokesperson for the US Federal Aviation Administration. \"\u00a0<strong>Certification activities in progress may be authorised to continue<\/strong>. But future projects <em>[certification<\/em>...] could be delayed depending on the findings of the monitoring\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Reuters news agency has reported that the FAA could eventually refuse to allow customers on board the new aircraft. Or not approve new routes for the carrier. The FAA and United declined to comment outside the official statement. However,\u00a0 <strong>ALPA (Air Line Pilots Association), the union representing United's pilots, was more reassuring<\/strong>. He explained that he was not certain that the company's future development would be hindered by the FAA procedure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"It's an opportunity to identify opportunities for improvement within our operation. To identify changes to mitigate operational risk. And to set our airline up for success by effectively managing these changes\", ALPA stressed. The union, on the other hand, believes that the<strong>he delay in the delivery of Boeing aircraft is more likely to slow down the company's future
