Accor intends to take the ecological transition of its establishments one step further by finding a partner of choice to support it: ADEME. The hotel group has just signed a framework agreement with the public establishment headed by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. \"\u00a0A decisive step<\/em>\u00a0\"Brune Poirson, Director of Sustainable Development for the French group. With its 1,700 hotels in France, the hotel group is a heavyweight in the sector, and therefore a major player in the sustainable development field. a key player in reducing our environmental footprint <\/strong>of French tourism, which accounts for 11% of national greenhouse gas emissions. However, accommodation accounts for only 7%, compared with 77% for passenger transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But any contribution to eco-responsible tourism is obviously essential, whether in terms of global issues or in anticipation of travellers' future expectations. \"\u00a0Our ambition is to anticipate changes in the tourism offer by spearheading a new, responsible vision of hospitality.<\/em>\" said Brune Poirson. Encouraging owners to speed up this essential shift for the future of the sector, helping them to decarbonise their establishments, managing the various initiatives and ensuring that targets are met: this framework agreement, covering a three-year period from 2024 to 2027, is divided into several areas of work, starting with the energy efficiency and sobriety of hotels and their supply of renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other avenues have been defined in this framework agreement where ADEME will be able to contribute its expertise<\/strong> and expertise to the Group's teams and hoteliers, particularly in the areas of sustainable food and reducing food waste, sustainable mobility and the promotion of cycle tourism, as well as land-use planning, biodiversity and the proper management of water resources. All of this also includes a commitment and communication campaign aimed at the Group's customers and employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, while Accor has set itself the goal of having its entire global network certified by 2026, this association aims to accelerate the certification process for establishments in European Ecolabel<\/a>Accor has also signed partnerships with the Green Key and Green Globe labels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
