{"id":172065,"date":"2024-04-12T11:47:52","date_gmt":"2024-04-12T09:47:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=172065"},"modified":"2024-04-12T12:01:50","modified_gmt":"2024-04-12T10:01:50","slug":"low-cost-europe-summer-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/low-cost-europe-summer-2024","title":{"rendered":"Low-cost airlines take Europe by storm with summer schedules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>163 new overhead lines<\/strong> inaugurated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/avenir-compagnies-low-cost-20200507.html\/\">companies <\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/avenir-compagnies-low-cost-20200507.html\/\">low-cost<\/a><\/strong> for this new IATA summer season in Europe: demand for travel is strong, and low-cost air transport, which is more flexible than traditional airlines, is responding. According to a study by the consultant Air Service One, some fifteen low-cost airlines opened a record number of European routes in the period between 31 March and 5 April 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ryanair-la-low-cost-la-plus-dynamique\">Ryanair, the fastest-growing low-cost airline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In detail, the record is held by <strong>Ryanair<\/strong>. During this short period, the latter inaugurated <strong>104 overhead lines<\/strong>of which <strong>11 new routes from France<\/strong>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/toulouse-deux-nouvelles-routes-easyjet-20240402.html\/\">EasyJet<\/a> follows Ryanair<\/strong> but the gap between the two is abysmal. The orange company has launched <strong>22 new routes, including 9 from France<\/strong>. Wizz Air comes third with 10 new routes, including one in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A long way behind <strong>Eurowings<\/strong> (6 new destinations, including a route in France), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/mediterranee-transavia-20240215.html\/\">Transavia<\/a> France<\/strong> and <strong>Norwegian<\/strong> (4 links), <strong>Jet2.com<\/strong> (3 lines) and <strong>Vueling<\/strong> (2 lines).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vueling-orly-20240402.html\/\" data-id=\"171263\">Vueling continues to prune its network at Orly<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In France,<\/strong> <strong>low-cost carriers opened 32 new routes during the period<\/strong>. These openings are still dominated by easyJet and Ryanair. The latter is particularly active in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/aeroport-beauvais-trafic-20230412.html\/\">Beauvais <\/a>and Marseille this summer.
