{"id":173881,"date":"2024-05-08T18:39:16","date_gmt":"2024-05-08T16:39:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=173881"},"modified":"2024-05-10T10:58:16","modified_gmt":"2024-05-10T08:58:16","slug":"private-cabins-shinkansen-japan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/private-cabins-shinkansen-japan","title":{"rendered":"The return of private cabins on certain Shinkansen trains in Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They disappeared more than 20 years ago, but now they're back. <strong>Private cabins on Japan's Shinkansen high-speed trains are set to make a comeback.<\/strong> It will nevertheless be <strong>not before fiscal year 2026<\/strong>according to a recent announcement by <strong>Central Japan Railway Co.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The line to be equipped will be the one linking<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/yotel-tokyo-premiere-japon-20240506.html\/\"> Tokyo<\/a> in Hakata<\/strong>a suburb of <strong>Fukuoka<\/strong>the major metropolis in south-west Japan, on the island of Kyushu. <strong>A journey that takes almost five hours<\/strong> which links all the major Japanese cities. And more, <strong>Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe and Hiroshima<\/strong> before reaching Fukuoka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Future private cabins will have all the trappings of a bedroom<\/strong>. Each will feature a wide, special reclining seat with a footrest. It will remind some travellers of <strong>airline sleeper seats<\/strong>. They will be able to access Wi-Fi and adjust the lighting, air conditioning and audio to their preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Central Japan Railway Co. plans to install<strong> two private rooms by high-speed train<\/strong>In fact, the operator is seeking to meet a growing demand for more luxury and intimacy when travelling by train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The railway company believes that<strong>around 10 % of the 130 or so Shinkansen trains could be equipped with private rooms<\/strong>Each can accommodate one or two passengers.
