Inaugurated in 1986 with two stopovers (Barcelona and Bombay), it became non-stop in 1992 until it was discontinued in 1998. Iberia returned to Tokyo in 2016, until the Covid-19 pandemic put an end to the route in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>27 October, the date on which the IATA winter timetable comes into force, will also mark Iberia's fourth return to the Japanese capital.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Spanish airline will offer <strong>three weekly flights<\/strong> on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays to Tokyo Narita airport. Return flights will leave Tokyo for Madrid every Monday, Friday and Sunday. The route is the only non-stop option between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The equipment put into service on the line is <strong>an Airbus A350<\/strong>. It is the most cost-effective and comfortable aircraft for this very long-haul route. The ban on flying over Russian territory means longer flight times. However, the A350's fuel consumption is 30 to 35 % lower than that of similar aircraft. A performance that will also guarantee a reduction in CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Iberia's A350s can accommodate a total of 330 passengers. There are 31 in Business class, 24 in Premium Economy and 293 in Economy.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For its winter timetable, Iberia has also announced the launch of two new destinations:<strong> Salzburg (Austria) and Troms\u00f8 (Norway)<\/strong>. These two cities will each be linked by two weekly flights to Madrid. Iberia aircraft will be landing in Salzburg until 29 March and in Troms\u00f8 until 2 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/fidelisation-club-iberia-plus-20250418.html\/\" data-id=\"197953\">Club Iberia Plus loyalty programme to be more transparent<\/a><\/p><\/aside>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This autumn, Iberia will be reopening its route between Madrid and Tokyo-Narita. This will be the Spanish airline's only Asian destination.
