Business travellers who frequently visit Africa will soon be able to use their American Express card in more of the continent's countries. This leading player in corporate payment solutions has concluded an agreement with the Ecobank Group,<\/strong> the leading pan-African financial services group, to significantly extend acceptance of the American Express card.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Thanks to this, over the next 12 months, 12 new countries<\/strong> will be added to the list of destinations where cardholders will be able to use it to pay their expenses. These are Burundi, Guinea-Bissau, Gabon, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Niger, Central African Republic, S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Togo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

At the same time, the number of merchants accepting American Express card payments will also increase in nine other countries: Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Tanzania. Travellers will also be able to withdraw money<\/strong> through Ecobank's network of ATMs, present in all these countries except Cape Verde. This agreement will benefit both travellers and retailers in all these countries, who will be able to reach a wider international customer base.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
