Portugal, a land of opportunity for major hotel groups. A few days after the announcement by IHG around ten projects <\/a>expected in the country by 2026, Hilton has celebrated the opening of two new establishments. Already boasting two hotels in Lisbon - and around ten establishments in Portugal in all - the group has just added a third address in the capital<\/strong>. Its Curio Collection brand welcomes a new member, the DUO Hotel Lisbon, following the arrival of the Emerald House Lisbon in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in the lively Cais do Sodr\u00e9 district, the hotel combines the past and the present, combining a traditional 19th-century building with a modern building.e<\/sup> century to a more modern building, the two being connected by a landscaped courtyard for private events<\/strong>. This link with Portuguese culture is echoed in the 75 rooms, all with views over the Tagus, by headboards hand-painted in the Viuva Lamego factory, its tiles paying homage to the tradition of Portuguese ceramics. Pasteleria, a bar-restaurant where head chef Marlene Viera revisits traditional Portuguese cuisine: the DUO Hotel Lisbon offers business travellers a distinctly local touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel is the result of a management agreement between Hilton and Feuring Asset Management, two other establishments <\/strong>A Hampton by Hilton Lisbon is due to open next year in the Baixa district, followed by the debut in Portugal in 2026 of the Canopy by Hilton lifestyle hotel in Portugal, near Sao Paulo Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the American group is not concentrating its development on the country's capital, with another hotel just opened. in the Azores<\/strong>on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel. Just a ten-minute drive from the town of Ponta Delgada, the DoubleTree by Hilton Lagoa Azores overlooks the ocean. An ideal location for a leisure break, the hotel offers everything you need for this with a bar-restaurant serving Azorean cuisine, a rooftop bar organised around an outdoor swimming pool and a wellness area with a swimming pool, as well as a Turkish bath, a sauna and two treatment rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, this hotel with 101 rooms and suites - with panoramic views over the island's lush landscapes and the Atlantic coastline - also lends itself to incentive breaks with its three meeting rooms<\/strong>The largest of these, which can be divided in two, can accommodate up to 150 people. At the same time, the DoubleTree by Hilton Lagoa Azore also offers an executive boardroom for up to 15 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
