Israel is introducing a new procedure for entering its territory with the introduction of the ETA-IL system, a electronic travel authorisation<\/strong> similar to the ESTA required in the United States. Whether they are travelling for business or pleasure, French and Belgian nationals - as well as those from all visa-exempt countries - will need to apply online at least 72 hours before their departure. Initially, this will be optional and free of charge from 1 January.er<\/sup> July, then compulsory and paying from 1er<\/sup> August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ETA-IL travel authorisation is then valid for two years<\/strong> or until the expiry of the
passport of the holder, with no limit on the number of times the holder may enter Israel. For stays of up to 90 days, an extension must be requested from the Israel Immigration and Civil Status Authority (PIBA) for longer stays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a pilot phase in June involving German, American and Indian nationals, Israel is extending the French travellers<\/strong> This requirement is designed to \"simplify and secure entry to Israel\", according to the Israeli tourist office. In practice, ETA-IL applications are made via the government portal https:\/\/israel-entry.piba.gov.il.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process follows five stages. Firstly, the traveller prepares the necessary documents (passport, valid e-mail address and e-mail address for verification and means of payment), then completes the travel details, enters the passport details, enters the personal details and, finally, pays the NIS 25. around \u20ac 7 <\/strong>- required to submit the request.
