A strike by Paris airport staff on 17 July, but little disruption is expected. Although a number of ADP unions - CGT, CFDT, FO and UNSA - have called for strike action just a few days before the opening of the Olympic Games, the strike is not expected to cause \"any disruption\".\u00a0is not expected to result in any flight cancellations<\/em>\" according to the management of the group which runs Paris-CDG and Paris-Orly airports, quoted by AFP. In the same way that a previous industrial action, on 19 May last year, had no major impact on air traffic<\/strong>. Last night, management expressed surprise at the announcement of this strike, even though by 6.30pm it had not received the advance notice referred to by the unions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While employees of many public companies - notably the RATP and the SNCF - have received bonuses linked to the extra activity expected with the Olympic Games, the unions are calling for a \"\u00a0uniform bonus for all staff<\/em>\" according to a joint press release issued by the CGT, CFDT, FO and UNSA unions. The unions explain their mobilisation by their regret at the unilateral decision of ADP CEO Augustin de Romanet to pay a bonus only \"to the employees who have already been laid off\".to some of the staff only<\/em><\/strong><\/em>\" . Other demands include a massive recruitment plan for 1,000 jobs and a guarantee that they will be able to take days off during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the unions are mobilising, ADP Group management told AFP that the social dialogue<\/strong> was \"\u00a0permanent<\/em>\u00a0\"and that she remained\u00a0in contact with trade unions<\/em>\" . For their part, the unions stated in their press release that \".\u00a0The general meetings supported the unions' unanimous decision to suspend their participation in all forms of meetings with management, except for strike notices.
