While Paris 2024 is the focus of attention, the next host destination for the Summer Olympics is preparing to host the event in the best possible conditions. The announcement of a timetable for the entry into service of the rail link between Los Angeles<\/strong> and its airport LAX<\/strong>. Named Automated People Mover<\/strong> (APM), this new link between the destination and its hub will make its debut in January 2026<\/strong>. Construction is due to finish on 8 December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In concrete terms, the new rail link will connect Los Angeles airport to the metro network via three stations integrated into the central terminal area, linking LAX to the C and K lines. The service will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a train every two minutes during rush hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those responsible for the project are forecasting annual traffic of some 30 million passengers<\/strong>The service is free for passengers and accompanying persons, as well as for all airport employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inauguration of the Automated People Mover service will logically result in a modal shift from cars to public transport. According to LAX management, more than 65 million kilometres usually travelled by car will be saved each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
