{"id":179031,"date":"2024-08-01T10:46:35","date_gmt":"2024-08-01T08:46:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=179031"},"modified":"2024-08-04T06:36:08","modified_gmt":"2024-08-04T04:36:08","slug":"suspension-of-flights-lebanon-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/suspension-of-flights-lebanon-israel","title":{"rendered":"Suspension of flights to Lebanon and Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Information updated on 4\/8\/2024<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Since the weekend, a number of airlines have decided to suspend services to and from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/israel-hamas-affecte-beyrouth-20231023.html\/\"><strong>Beirut <\/strong><\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vols-paris-tel-aviv-retour-compagnies-20240122.html\/\"><strong>Tel Aviv<\/strong><\/a> in the face of rising tensions in the region. A sort of \"replay\" of what happened last October after the Hamas attack on Israel.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Air France-KLM<\/strong>which was due to resume flights to the Lebanese capital on 31 July, has announced that it is extending this date. <strong>suspended until Saturday 3 August<\/strong>. This suspension also includes routes operated by the low-cost subsidiary <strong>Transavia from Orly, Lyon, Marseille and Nice to Beirut<\/strong>. Middle East Airlines, on the other hand, continues to operate its routes to France and Europe in general.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>From his side, <strong>the Lufthansa group has also announced the suspension of five routes to Lebanon<\/strong>operated by Lufthansa, Eurowings and Swiss. The flights will not operate until 9 August. Please note that on 2 August, <strong>Royal Jordanian<\/strong> cancelled its two daily flights and <strong>Turkish Airlines<\/strong> its evening flight.<\/p>\r\n<p>The company<strong> Emirates<\/strong> also indicated that it would no longer accept passengers in transit to Beirut until Friday evening.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Flights to Tel Aviv affected<\/h3>\r\n<p><strong>The German carrier has also cancelled all its flights to Tel Aviv until the same date.<\/strong>. This decision also affects the frequencies of all its subsidiaries, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Swiss. It should also be noted that the Italian airline <strong>ITA Airways<\/strong>which has been taken over by Lufthansa, is cancelling its daily flights between Rome and Tel Aviv. Finally, the Polish airline <strong>LOT<\/strong> is temporarily suspending services to both Beirut and Tel Aviv. While<strong>Iberia and Air Europa<\/strong> are not offering any flights from Madrid to the Israeli capital until 7 August.<\/p>\r\n<p>T<strong>ll flights operated by Israeli airlines El Al and Israir will be maintained, as will Air France frequencies.<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>On the flightradar24.com website, <strong>Beirut airport recorded a total of 15% of cancelled frequencies<\/strong> on 2 August. These include a daily Royal Jordanian service. However, the cancellation rate was lower than on 31 July (19%).<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>The number of <strong>cancelled flights<\/strong> 2 August at <strong>Tel Aviv reaches 7% of all movements<\/strong>according to flightradar24.com.<\/p>\r\n<p>Due to the rapidly changing situation in the Middle East, it is advisable to monitor airline announcements regularly.<\/p>\r\n<p>(Updated on 4\/08\/24)<\/p>\r\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tension in the Middle East is mounting following the latest actions between Israel and Hamas and Hezbollah.
