Opened to coincide with the Munich Olympic Games in 1972, the Hilton Munich Park hotel will soon be taking on a new look. a long break<\/strong> after some fifty years in business. Only to come back even stronger, following a four-year renovation programme scheduled to reopen in 2029. The rejuvenation of this major business hotel with its 484 rooms and its MICE area of almost 4,000m\u00b2, with 26 meeting rooms and a ballroom for 1,000 people, is part of the redevelopment of a business district dating back to the late 1960s, Tucherpark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the edge of the English Garden, one of the largest urban green spaces in the world, even larger than Central Park, and also bordering the River Isar, this complex was built on the initiative of Bayerische Vereinsbank - now HypoVereinsbank\/Unicredit - and named after its then Chairman, Hans Christoph Freiherr von Tucher. The ensemble, comprising seven office buildings and the Hilton hotel<\/strong>The building was designed by architect Sep Ruf, one of the leading exponents of the Bauhaus style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iconic buildings, a lot of green, but too much room for cars, a place that is still unfamiliar to many Munichers: the Tucherpark has both <\/strong>the potential to become a place for the times and the shortcomings to be eradicated in order to enter a sustainable era. It was with these aims in mind that property manager Commerz Real and investor Hines bought it in 2019. \"\u00a0We want to write a new chapter in its history<\/strong><\/em>said Christian Meister, Managing Director and Project Manager of Hines in Munich, at the presentation of the 2021 project. The former island in the middle of Munich is to become an integral part of the city<\/em>\" .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanded green spaces and redesigned office buildings, a place for culture, shopping and sport, as well as affordable housing: the project, known as Tucherpark Circular City, is intended to be a \"new city\". a new place to live<\/strong>. While Hines and Commerz Real have retained their trust in Hilton, the hotel will also be involved in this ambitious redevelopment. The programme includes the addition of a new restaurant and rooftop bar overlooking the English Garden, in addition to the existing restaurants, a central bar and improved wellness facilities. There will also be a retail space on the ground floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for companies, they will find at the Hilton Munich Park refurbished meeting spaces<\/strong>These include a larger ballroom and the creation of a new urban garden to meet the growing demand for unconventional event spaces. Until it reopens, business travellers loyal to the American group will still have several points of call in the Bavarian capital with two Hiltons, one in the city centre and the other at the airport, in addition to three Hampton by Hilton hotels and the Hilton Garden Inn Munich City West.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
