The two carriers had already signed an agreement to market <strong>flights between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/athenes-crise-et-redressement-20190506.html\/\">Athens <\/a>or Thessaloniki to some fifteen European destinations<\/strong> (including <strong>Paris-CDG <\/strong>and <strong>Nice<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From now on, the partnership will also be financial. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/wifi-aegean-20220209.html\/\"><strong>Aegean<\/strong><\/a> announced on 3 September <strong>an investment of 25 million euros in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/hiver-2024-volotea-depuis-france-20240816.html\/\">Volotea<\/a><\/strong>. Aegean is thus consolidating its presence throughout Europe, with Volotea having carried <strong>10.3 million passengers<\/strong> on its 41 aircraft in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company serves more than 400 routes, including a <strong>twenty or so stopovers in France<\/strong>. The latest is <strong>Rodez<\/strong>linked to <strong>Paris-Orly<\/strong> with 11 weekly flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial investment of \u20ac25 million is being made by joining Volotea's existing shareholders in a global capital increase of up to \u20ac50 million. Depending on Volotea's financial performance in 2024, there could be <strong>a second tranche of convertible loans<\/strong> in the second quarter of 2025 for an additional amount of up to 50 million euros. Aegean could again contribute 25 million euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, Aegean and Volotea have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in distribution and other commercial areas, in order to exploit the synergies between the two companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More specifically, <strong>commercial cooperation<\/strong> will focus initially on the <strong>cross-selling of products<\/strong> on the online sites of both companies. They will also <strong>jointly operate new routes between Greek regional airports and the rest of Europe<\/strong>including, once again, France.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greek carrier Aegean is to inject \u20ac25 million into regional airline Volotea, enabling it to continue investing in its fleet and network.
