This is the decision taken by the transport ministers of the various German L\u00e4nder. According to Oliver Krischer, head of the transport department in North Rhine-Westphalia, \"the agreement reached shows that <strong>the L\u00e4nder want to maintain and develop the Deutschland Ticket because of its success<\/strong> \"said the Green Party politician. \"With this price, we can keep the ticket attractive. And we can put its financing on a firmer footing\", he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u20ac58 rate is a compromise between Bavaria, which wanted to increase the price to \u20ac64, and other L\u00e4nder, which wanted a more modest increase. The latter argued that<strong>too high a price<\/strong> <strong>would jeopardise the attractiveness of the Deutschland Ticket<\/strong>. However, there is still the problem of balancing this product. It remains largely in deficit despite <strong>its use by 13 million people.<\/strong> The ticket is currently financed to the tune of \u20ac3 billion, paid in equal parts by the Federal State and the L\u00e4nder.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Launched last year, the Deutschland Ticket allows the use of all public transport and regional trains in Germany for 49 euros.
