Marriott is taking its turn in measuring the carbon footprint of events organised in the group's hotels through the \"\u00a0Connect Responsibly with Marriott Bonvoy Events<\/strong>\" . To be launched worldwide by the end of October, this new programme will provide detailed reports on the environmental impact of meetings, available after the event and in around ten different languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the CSR platform developed by the American group Serve 360, this impact assessment <\/strong>evaluates the sustainability practices specific to the establishment implemented for the event, as well as its carbon and water footprints, calculated using methodologies established in the hotel industry. From here, companies also have the option of selecting carbon credit purchase options to offset their carbon footprint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve this, Marriott has teamed up with South Pole, a climate consultancy, to provide the US hotel operator's MICE customers with an online shop of carbon offset projects<\/strong>They can be purchased as part of their event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
