{"id":18503,"date":"2011-06-15T12:54:23","date_gmt":"2011-06-15T11:54:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/classement-ihg-reste-le-premier-groupe-hotelier-mondial-20110615.html"},"modified":"2016-02-10T09:56:38","modified_gmt":"2016-02-10T08:56:38","slug":"ihg-remains-the-worlds-leading-hotel-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/ihg-remains-the-worlds-leading-hotel-group","title":{"rendered":"Ranking - IHG remains the world's leading hotel group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Still in first place: InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) with a catalogue of almost 647,000 rooms in 4,437 establishments under the InterContinental, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, Crowne Plaza and, above all, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands.<\/p>\n<p>With 163 new openings in 2010, Hilton Worldwide (Hilton, Conrad, Waldorf Astoria, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton, Garden Inn, etc.) has taken the runner-up spot from Wyndham Worldwide (Wyndham, Ramada, Days Inn, Travelodge, Microtel, Howard Johnson, Super 8 Motels, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>Now spread across just over twenty different brands (including Renaissance, Courtyard, RitzCarlton and Residence), the Marriott group retains fourth place in this ranking with almost 602,000 rooms, representing an increase in the number of rooms of 3.6 1TP3Q compared to the previous ranking. Similarly, Accor also remains in fifth place thanks to the dynamism of its Ibis (39 openings in 2010) and Mercure (25 openings in 2010) brands. There were no major changes either in the 6th to 10th places in this ranking, which includes Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn, Clarion, Quality, etc.), Starwood Hotels &amp; Resorts (Sheraton, Meridien, Westin, W, St-Regis, etc.), Best Western, Carlson Hospitality (Radisson, Country Inn, Park Inn, etc.) and Hyatt.<\/p>\n<p>More generally, there has been a clear increase in the number of hotels operated by integrated chains - particularly through franchising - since the top four groups in the ranking have now passed the 600,000 rooms sold mark. In the 2010 rankings, only the IHG group was above this level. Another ranking published by MKG: that of <em>\"top twenty global brands<\/em> (see focus), led by Best Western and Holiday Inn. In addition to Ibis and Mercure, the biggest increases in terms of number of rooms were recorded by Hampton Inn, part of the Hilton group (+4.1%), Courtyard by Marriott (+4.7 %) and Crowne Plaza (+5.1 %).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small; \"><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 102, 0); \"><strong>Focus -
