A new luxury boutique hotel and a historic establishment back in business, but also a budget hotel planned in the fast-growing Cloche d'Or district or another within an innovative mega complex: Luxembourg will be at the heart of the hotel industry in 2025<\/strong>. This was shortly after the opening of a hotel Moxy<\/a> at Findel airport, as part of the development of the Luxembourg hub around the new Skypark Business Centre, pending the arrival of the tram next March.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This lifestyle and mid-range establishment with 129 rooms and suites has enabled the Marriott group to make its entry into the country. But the presence of the American hotelier will soon be strengthened with a major opening<\/strong>the Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa, located opposite the central station. Formerly under the Mercure banner since the late 1990s, this listed historic monument closed its doors abruptly in 2017, due to a dispute between its various owners.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Recognisable by its Art Deco fa\u00e7ade, famous for its murals by the artist Julien Lef\u00e8vre - the son of the owner, Alfred Lef\u00e8vre - the Grand Hotel Alfa was in its infancy in the 1930s. the town's flagship establishment<\/strong>. A key hotel which, at the end of the Second World War, was also the headquarters of American generals Patton and Bradley, welcoming visiting personalities such as Churchill and Eisenhower.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

During the first quarter, Marriott will resume its long history after a complete renovation that pays homage to the past through a timeless atmosphere and Art Deco design elements in the lobby as well as the 153 rooms and suites. Julien Lef\u00e8vre's paintings will continue to adorn the walls of the French-inspired Brasserie Alfa. A chic and attractive venue for both hotel residents and a local clientele of former regulars. The Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa also intends to re-establish itself as a meeting point for professional meetings <\/strong>with five rooms on the first floor for events of 20 to 120 people.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Heritage revisited<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Transforming what already exists, breathing new life into its historic heritage: the City of Luxembourg has long been waiting for another major metamorphosis, that of H\u00f4tel des Postes<\/strong>built at the beginning of the XXe<\/sup> The building was designed in the Renaissance style by architect and painter Sosth\u00e8ne Weis. Classified as a national monument and located on the Place Hamilius in a UNESCO-protected area, this project by the Luxembourg postal group and French property investor Artea is experiencing the usual delays for a project of such heritage proportions. But the unveiling is slowly and - more or less - surely approaching. Originally announced for the end of 2024, the hotel is due to open its doors at the end of 2025.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Several things are certain, however, including the personalities involved in its architectural concept and interior design with local firm Romain Schmiz Architectes and Studio Jean-Philippe Nuel. Another certainty is that the lifestyle positioning <\/strong>with two restaurants and a bar, shops, a wellness area and a coworking space.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Even before this renaissance, another of Sosth\u00e8ne Weis's creations - this time as a painter - was also converted to high-end hospitality: the Villa Baldauff. Part of a series of mansion houses<\/strong> built at the end of the 19th centurye<\/sup> Built in the 19th century around the municipal park, this noble residence was the work of a visionary trio for its time: Pierre Kemp for the architecture, landscape architect Edouard Andr\u00e9 for the large private park surrounding the villa and, last but not least, Sosth\u00e8ne Weis for the precious hand-painted wallpapers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Its name is Villa P\u00e9trusse, a reference to the river that flows through the park. Refined and exclusive, this boutique hotel will offer 22 rooms, including 2 suites and a private penthouse, a gourmet restaurant run by Michelin-starred Luxembourg chef Kim De Dood, as well as event and reception areas with a unique atmosphere.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

An ambitious complex<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

However, if Luxembourg is making something new out of something old, the city's hotel industry will also be playing with something brand new. The Cloche d'Or district<\/strong>which has been expanding rapidly over the last twenty years, expects the following for July 2025 a mid-range hotel from the B&B Hotels group<\/a>. In this predominantly business district, the French brand will be adding an affordable accommodation option with a 150-room establishment designed by local architects Moreno, who have also completed other projects nearby, including the headquarters of Intesa San Paolo and Deloitte.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A little further south-west of the Luxembourg capital, in Wickrange, at the crossroads of the motorways leading to France, Belgium and Germany, another project will be completed next year: the revolutionary GRIDX complex<\/strong>. This pharaonic project by the Felix Giorgetti property group focuses primarily on a passion for cars, with an 18,500m\u00b2 Motorworld area at the heart of its appeal, retracing the history of the automobile through more than 200 classic cars on display thanks to a partnership with the Museo nazionale dell'automobile in Turin.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But the range of possibilities goes beyond that, making the site a future leisure destination with shops, a food court and a brasserie, but also business-oriented with 10,000m\u00b2 of office space<\/strong>A 900 m\u00b2 business centre and a 1,400 m\u00b2 events hall. To reinforce this positioning for leisure and business tourism, the GRIDX complex will offer accommodation with a 133-room three-star superior hotel.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Managed by Cycas Hospitality, the hotel, called XNOTO, will offer several hosting solutions<\/strong> with 30 small, cosy rooms and 82 standard rooms of around 18 m\u00b2, nine suites and one large family suite, complemented by around ten long-stay flats with kitchenette, lounge and a partition to isolate the night-time area.
