The Canadian national carrier will charge cabin baggage for passengers using the \"basic fare\".<\/p>\n<p><strong>On routes within North America (including Caribbean destinations)<\/strong>If you choose the basic fare option, the cheapest fare, you will still be able to take a small personal item with you free of charge. For example, a small bag or laptop case.<\/p>\n<p>However, the<strong>Travellers should check in larger items, such as wheeled suitcases, cylindrical sports bags or large backpacks.<\/strong>. The company will apply <strong>a fee of 35 C$ (\u20ac23) and 50 C$ (\u20ac33)<\/strong> for a first and possibly a second baggage item. At the boarding gate, this fare will rise to 65 C$ (\u20ac43).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The company is also tightening up the allocation of \"basic fare\" seats<\/strong>. Passengers who select a seat - until now free of charge 24 hours before departure - will now have to pay for this service. The fare varies according to the seat selected.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-canada-aeroplan-wi-fi-gratuit-20241213.html\/\">Air Canada<\/a> will be more generous for passengers paying the \"Comfort Fare\".<\/strong> in economy class. From 3 January 2025, passengers will be entitled to two free checked bags.
