{"id":189851,"date":"2025-01-17T02:11:29","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T01:11:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=189851"},"modified":"2025-04-09T11:42:46","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T09:42:46","slug":"aeroports-paris-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/aeroports-paris-2024","title":{"rendered":"Modest growth for Paris airports in 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2024 marked a return to a certain normality in growth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/paris-cdg-top-aeroports-skytrax-20240527.html\/\">Paris airports<\/a> from <strong>Roissy-CDG and Orly airports<\/strong>. <strong>The two platforms grew by 3.7%<\/strong> of their total number of passengers <strong>103.41 million passengers<\/strong>. The passenger growth rate had still exceeded 15% between 2022 and 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-progression-plus-rapide-a-roissy-grace-au-trafic-intercontinental\">Faster growth at Roissy thanks to intercontinental traffic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, this figure allows the two airports to reach 95.8% of the traffic recorded in 2019, the last year before the Covid health crisis. Orly continues to exceed its pre-Covid traffic levels. With <strong>33.12 million passengers<\/strong>the airport to the south of Paris does indeed boast <strong>an all-time traffic record<\/strong>It is four points above 2019. However, growth slowed last year, due to <strong>the continuing fall in domestic traffic<\/strong>. The number of passengers at Orly only increased by 2.6% between 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roissy was up 4.3%. A<strong>with 70.29 million passengers,<\/strong> the hub of the Air France airline, has recovered <strong>92.3% of its 2019 traffic<\/strong>. The airport's strong growth can be attributed to dynamic intercontinental traffic. <strong>It rose by 7.2%<\/strong> last year, led by<strong>Asia's surge (+24.31TP3Q)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By segment,<strong> domestic traffic fell by almost 5%<\/strong> last year. <strong>Its market share<\/strong> in the total traffic of the two Paris hubs has fallen to <strong>to 71.5%<\/strong> last year. This compares with more than 75% in 2023.<strong> Air traffic in the French overseas departments and territories<\/strong> is also marking time with <strong>a modest increase of 1.2%<\/strong> in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/aeroports-parisiens-adp-projets-20250408.html\/\" data-id=\"196997\">Paris airports (1\/2) : ADP bets on controlled growth<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/orly-terminal-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-189861\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/orly-terminal-1.jpg 620w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/orly-terminal-1-300x225-derived.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/orly-terminal-1-80x60-derived.jpg 80w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/orly-terminal-1-265x198-derived.jpg 265w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Terminal 1 at Orly (Photo: Luc Citrinot)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Traffic to Europe rose by 3.4%<\/strong>98.7%, almost back to its pre-Covid level. Nevertheless, passenger traffic to the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom finally exceeded 2019 levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On intercontinental routes, passenger numbers rose by <strong>7.8% to Africa<\/strong>of <strong>5.5% to Latin America<\/strong> and <strong>5% to North America<\/strong>. On the other hand,<strong> traffic on the Middle East fell by 3.8%<\/strong> under the combined effect of geopolitical unrest in the region and the resumption of direct flights from Paris to Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-resultats-annuels-egalement-pour-le-groupe-vinci-en-france\">VINCI Group in France also reports annual results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time,<strong> the private VINCI group<\/strong>which manages eight regional airports in France, has published its traffic figures for 2024. VINCI operates the two <strong>Lyon and Nantes airports<\/strong>. On the first, <strong>passenger traffic increased by 4.81TP3Q to 10.48 million passengers<\/strong>. Traffic at Lyon nevertheless remains 11% below its historic 2019 level. But the hub is likely to return to its 11 million annual passenger figures by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vinci-airports-records-santiago-edimbourg-20250106.html\/\" data-id=\"188671\">Vinci Airports breaks records from Santiago to Edinburgh<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>As for <strong>Nantes<\/strong>, <strong>its traffic once again exceeded seven million passengers<\/strong>. With growth of<strong> 7.9% in 2024<\/strong>Nantes is now just three points below its record for 2019. Nantes airport continues to assert its pre-eminence in Brittany. Indeed, its main competitor,<strong> Rennes airport<\/strong>also part of the VINCI group, had a very busy year last year. <strong>a drop in traffic of 14%<\/strong>annual passenger numbers to 511,000. Compared with 2019, traffic at Rennes is in free fall, at -40%.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2024, traffic at Paris-Orly and Paris-CDG airports finally passed the 100 million
