This represents an increase of 11% and 9% respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Undeniable proof of Vienna's appeal: last year, the airport finally surpassed its previous record for 2019. <strong>The platform welcomed <\/strong><span class=\"avtext-n\"><strong>31.72 million passengers<\/strong>an increase of <strong>7,4%<\/strong> compared with 2023. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"avtext-n\">The Tourist Office is pleased to note the breakthrough of the<strong> rail transport<\/strong>. Its market share now stands at <strong>30% of all arrivals<\/strong>. A success due to the popularity of night trains <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vienne-capitale-trains-nuit-20240610.html\/\"><strong>Nightjet<\/strong> <\/a>Austrian Federal Railways \u00d6BB.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vienna-airport-breaks-records\/\" data-id=\"213697\">Vienna airport breaks records<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pres-de-200-000-francais-en-2024\">Nearly 200,000 French people in 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Europe<\/strong> represented (including Austria) <strong>over 6.38 million arrivals<\/strong>This translates into 14.66 million overnight stays. <strong>France remains one of Vienna's main tourist markets<\/strong>. France was ranked <strong>7th in the top 10 in terms of arrivals (196,468, +7.8%) and 6th in terms of overnight stays (530,669, +9.1%)<\/strong>. Of the top 10 outbound markets to Vienna, the French are the travellers who stay the longest, with an average of 2.70 nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"<em>2024 was the most successful year for Viennese tourism since statistics began. In a difficult global economic climate, tourism in Vienna has proved to be a driver of added value, creating jobs all year round. <\/em>\"confirmed <strong>Norbert Kettner, Managing Director of the Vienna Tourist Office<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-10-nouveaux-hotels-avec-plus-de-3-000-lits-en-2025\">10 new hotels with over 3,000 beds by 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hotels and guesthouses accounted for 81.5% of all overnight stays.<\/strong>The market share for rental flats was 14.3%. The preponderance of hotels is a key factor in the destination's success in hosting MICE activities. According to tourist office statistics, <strong>Vienna currently has 433 hotels<\/strong>. A total of around 40,900 rooms and 81,800 beds. <strong>Room occupancy rates<\/strong> rose sharply last year, climbing nearly four points to <strong>87,1%<\/strong> compared with 83.3% in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it is unlikely that the hotel occupancy rate will fall significantly by 2025. Indeed, according to data from the tourist office, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vienne-hotellerie-20240404.html\/\">10 new establishments<\/a> will open their doors this year<\/strong>or <strong>1,498 additional rooms<\/strong> and just over 3,000 extra beds. The most eagerly awaited project is the opening of the <strong>Mandarin Oriental<\/strong> in the 5-star category. It is due to open this summer with a total of 138 rooms. As well as <strong>six conferences with over 10,000 participants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-johann-strauss-fils-fil-conducteur-du-tourisme-viennois-en-2025\">Johann Strauss Jr., the guiding light for Viennese tourism in 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The year 2025 will celebrate<strong> <\/strong>200th anniversary of the birth of one of Austria's most famous composers, <strong>Johann Strauss fils<\/strong>. Probably the most iconic of Viennese musicians, with his famous Blue Danube waltz. Vienna will be organising 65 events around this legendary figure at 69 different venues in the city.
