Behind London Heathrow and Paris-CDG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The slightest increase in air traffic in Germany in 2024 has confirmed the coronation of<strong>Amsterdam Schiphol as Europe's third largest airport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/destins-croises-pour-adp-et-francfort-20250219.html\/\" data-id=\"192391\">Crossroads for ADP and Frankfurt<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, the Dutch platform welcomed<strong> 66.83 million passengers to over 300 destinations<\/strong>. On this figure, <strong>36.3% were transferred<\/strong> - or more than 24 million passengers. Schiphol handled 47.6 million passengers to and from Europe and 19.2 million intercontinental passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This result represents <strong>8% more traffic than in 2023<\/strong>. It is still 7% below its record for 2019. By comparison, traffic at<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/trafic-aerien-allemagne-2024-20250212.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> <strong>Frankfurt<\/strong><\/a> rose last year by 3.7% compared with 2023 to <strong>61.56 million passengers<\/strong>. However, the German mega-hub's performance is still more than 12% below 2019 levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-planifier-pour-l-avenir\">Planning for the future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is true that Schiphol is regularly at the heart of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/amsterdam-schiphol-politique-20230926.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">controversy over the limitation of its air movements<\/a>In the meantime, there has been a yo-yo between the decisions of the Dutch government and those of the courts. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the future growth of the hub, <strong>the Schiphol authorities remain optimistic about the future.<\/strong> And continue to plan <strong>its expansion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/amsterdam-schiphol-6-milliards-20240902.html\/\" data-id=\"180185\">Amsterdam: \u20ac6 billion to modernise Schiphol<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>\"<em> In 2024, <strong>investments in quality at Schiphol have begun to bear fruit<\/strong>. We note that more than three quarters of the Dutch population have a positive attitude to aviation and that demand for air travel continues to grow. <strong>We must therefore continue to improve the experience of all these travellers<\/strong>. That's why we will continue to invest relentlessly in better, more sustainable quality in 2025. This is essential if Schiphol is to continue to contribute to the prosperity of the Netherlands.<\/em>\" commented<strong> Pieter van Oord, airport CEO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airport plans to invest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/amsterdam-schiphol-6-milliards-20240902.html\/\">six billion euros<\/a> over the next few years, in particular with the<strong>he renovation of Pier C and the construction of Pier A<\/strong>. As well as various extensions to the existing terminal and technical facilities such as baggage sorting.
