A hundred or so managers from the sector were interviewed, from MICE agencies, corporate meeting planners, travel agencies, communications agencies and TOs with MICE operations... The year 2024, marked by the impact of the preparation and staging of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/veronique-holveck-mpi-france-switzerland-20250103.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Olympic and Paralympic Games<\/a> was one of \"resilience\", according to the report. Only 10% felt that the international sporting event boosted their business, while 62% felt that it had no impact at all. While the hybridization of certain events has progressed since the Covid epidemic, companies remain almost unanimously attached to holding<strong>face-to-face operations<\/strong> because they enable people to share moments together (at 97%), increase team cohesion (82%), get a message across more effectively (80%), encourage better communication and bring out new ideas (73%), strengthen links with customers and make new business contacts... In 2024, the size of groups brought together up to 49 participants for 23.5% of respondents, from 50 to 149 people for 49%, and over 150 guests for 23.5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/interface-tourism-tendances-mice-2024-20240220.html\/\" data-id=\"168455\">MICE: business in 2024 in line with the previous year, according to Interface Tourism<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bonne-tenue-des-destinations-internationales\">International destinations holding up well<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If at the end of the Covid <strong>French destinations<\/strong>often located in the <strong>green<\/strong>had the wind in their sails, <strong>European destinations are back on track<\/strong>96.7 % of MICE operators surveyed having organised an event there in 2024, mainly in <strong>Spain, Italy and Morocco. Barcelona, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/marrakech-retour-scene-mice-20231116.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marrakech<\/a>Rome and Lisbon top the list of the most sought-after cities abroad<\/strong> because of their culture and the mild climate. Long-haul destinations, obviously for longer periods (over 5 days for 45% of players), are also making a strong comeback, with an increase in the number of visitors. <strong>a preference for Asia-Pacific, North America and South America<\/strong>. Dubai, Cape Town, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/san-francisco-soma-silicon-valley-20171016.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">San Francisco<\/a> and Tokyo are among the most popular destinations. Budgets are also affected, with 19% of operations costing between \u20ac700 and \u20ac999 per person, 23% between \u20ac1000 and \u20ac1499, and 24% between \u20ac1500 and \u20ac1999. And 7% of operations cost more than \u20ac3,000 per participant. <strong>Budgets increased last year for 30% of players<\/strong>. The budget is obviously the No. 1 criterion for an event, followed by accessibility, infrastructure (hotel, seminar rooms, etc.), the local geopolitical situation and not forgetting the \"wow effect\" of the destination. In 59% of cases, customers select two destinations before making their final choice, with 41% even considering three options.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"426\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/palais-congres-biarritz.jpg\" alt=\"Biarritz Convention Centre\" class=\"wp-image-193467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/palais-congres-biarritz.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/palais-congres-biarritz-300x183-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Biarritz Convention Centre<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-une-croissance-moderee-attendue-pour-2025\">Moderate growth expected in 2025 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interface MICE expects the events market to grow by<\/strong> <strong>modest growth in 2025<\/strong>According to 34% of players, only 8% are betting on a sharp increase, marked by a lengthening of durations to 3 or 4 days and a return to favour of international destinations in order to provide participants with more of a change of scenery. The forecast is for 92% of professionals planning operations abroad, with only 2% favouring France alone. Demand will remain centred on volumes of 50 to 150 people for an average duration of 3 days\/2 nights. Eastern European cities (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/mice-prague-reprise-ambitions-20230530.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prague<\/a>Budapest...) are back in the running in terms of demand, thanks to their proximity, accessibility and the quality of their hotel and restaurant offer at attractive prices. Europe also has the advantage of lower air fares and even rail access, an option that is also appreciated for environmental reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>CSR is no longer an option but a necessity, influencing the choice of destinations, accommodation and modes of transport<\/p><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-rse-devient-incontournable\">CSR becomes essential<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The study reveals that <strong>Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) criteria have become an essential part of every MICE event<\/strong>. For 97.4% of the players surveyed\". <em>CSR is no longer an option but a necessity, influencing the choice of destinations, accommodation and modes of transport<\/em> \"says Interface MICE. As a result, <strong>48% choose train over plane<\/strong> in terms of transport, 43% chose accommodation with an ecological policy and 67% included a sustainable activity during their stay. Other key sustainable criteria include choosing a nearby destination, offsetting the carbon footprint of the operation, making a donation to a local charity, using short circuits for catering, choosing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/location-voiture-electrique-freins-20220719.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electric vehicles<\/a> or hybrids for local travel...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>destinations will have to focus on innovative concepts and greater personalisation<\/p><cite>Interface<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-un-recours-aux-professionnels-de-la-destination\">Use of destination professionals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses and MICE travel agencies rely heavily on support in organising their events, with 80% of buyers planning to use the services of Destination Management Organisations (DMO) in 2025 to help them prepare their events and seek advice. A further 57% use a Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for on-site organisation, accommodation, room or amphitheatre hire for working sessions, catering, evening events, entertainment and activities, etc. For those surveyed, in addition to its expertise in the destination, a DMO is also able to come up with new ideas: new hotels or venues, a new format, an original theme, etc. For these Destination Management Organisations, customers are looking for \"... a high level of service and support\". <em>increasingly experiential and immersive events, <\/em>considers Interface, adding that to make a difference in a highly competitive market <em>\"destinations will have to focus on innovative concepts and greater personalisation<\/em>
