Cambodia's aviation market is really taking off. Still marginalised a few years ago, the kingdom is beginning to attract intercontinental carriers, particularly from the Gulf. There are already daily flights - with a stopover - fromEmirates from Dubai to<\/strong> Phnom Penh<\/strong> <\/a>and Qatar Airways from Doha to the Cambodian capital<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three new intercontinental flights will be added during the year: Etihad Airways has just announced the launch of 4 weekly non-stop flights between Abu Dhabi and Phnom Penh.<\/strong>. Flights will be operated by Airbus A321LR from 3 October.<\/strong>. A fifth weekly flight will be launched on 6...<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Turkish Airlines will also be landing in Cambodia at the end of the year<\/strong>. The airline is due to begin flights on 10 December. It will operate three weekly flights<\/strong> on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on the Airbus A330-300 route Istanbul-Bangkok-Phnom Penh<\/strong>. At the same time, the number of frequencies on the Istanbul-Bangkok route will be increased from 21 to 24 weekly flights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And finally.., Emirates has just announced its arrival at Siem Reap-Angkor airport<\/strong>. La Dubai company<\/a> will also be making a stopover in Bangkok on this route, which will operate three times a week from 3 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, Phnom Penh-Pochentong airport recorded a 19% increase in passenger numbers.<\/strong>, a total of 4.75 million passengers<\/strong>s. Admittedly, this figure is still 21% below the previous year's result. 2019<\/strong> which saw the Cambodian platform surpass for the first time thehe 6 million passengers<\/strong>. But we can now expect Phnom Penh to approach, or even exceed, 5.5 million passengers by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This traffic should be boosted by the opening of the new international airport in the Cambodian capital<\/strong>which will have a capacity of 12 million passengers. All this from July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
