However, it only concerns EU airlines (plus Iceland, Norway and Switzerland) for inbound flights. L<strong>e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/eurostar-eta-mode-emploi-20250305.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">United Kingdom<\/a> has modelled its own legislation on European criteria<\/strong>. However, it remains under British law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/airhelp-classement-aeroports-francais-20250410.html\/\" data-id=\"197339\">Punctuality: the AirHelp ranking of French airports<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-genereuses-compensations\">Generous compensation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Passengers are currently entitled to a <strong>compensation of between 250 and 600 euros<\/strong>They can also benefit from accommodation and meals if necessary. However, for the past decade, the EU has been debating changes. And it was Poland that decided to reactivate discussions that had stalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poland's proposals to the Council of the European Union <strong>would aim to lengthen the delay threshold<\/strong> which would give entitlement to compensation. This threshold could be raised to<strong> five hours instead of three<\/strong>. The revised plan also aims to introduce new compensation bands. These would be based on longer flight distances and delay times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consumer protection associations are up in arms about the possibility of adopting these new rules. <strong>In particular, they believe that it is a \"blank cheque\" giving airlines free rein to incorporate delays and cancellations.<\/strong> in their programming. With no legal repercussions.
