Indeed, <strong>Transdev Rail Sud Inter-M\u00e9tropoles<\/strong> will only have 8 Omeo Premium trainsets out of the 16 ordered to start operating the <strong>TER line <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/marseille-gare-saint-charles-x-20241218.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marseille<\/a>&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/la-rade-du-futur-toulon-20210827.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Toulon<\/a>&#8211;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/nice-palais-des-congres-avril-20250320.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Nice<\/strong> <\/a>on 29 June. This delay in production at the Valenciennes workshops means that this new regional rail operator will have to lease - via the SNCF - Regiolis and Regio 2N trains to other regions with some availability, i.e. 3 trainsets to the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region, 8 to the Grand Est local authority and 1 to the Centre Val-de-Loire region. Transdev, which did not wish to take over the Corail trains currently used by SNCF because of their advanced age, is expected to demand penalties from Alstom to compensate for this situation during the first few months of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/regions-timides-ouverture-concurrence-20231106.html\/\" data-id=\"161435\">The Regions shy away from opening up rail services to competition<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-une-offre-cadencee-avec-14-allers-retours-quotidiens-prevus-a-ce-jour\">A regular service with 14 daily return trips planned to date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Awarded at the end of 2021 by the Sud Provence Alpes C\u00f4te d'Azur region, this contract was the first won in the region by an operator other than SNCF. Transdev has put a number of arguments on the table, including the construction of a maintenance site in Nice and the \u20ac250m order for 16 double-decker Omeo Premium trains, which are more comfortable and have a capacity of 401 seats, and offer additional on-board services including wifi, places for bicycles, electrical sockets and, by the end of 2025, a snack bar. More importantly, <strong>At the time, Transdev undertook to double the number of services offered<\/strong> compared with the current 16 return trips per day on weekdays and 17 on Saturdays. Now that ticket sales have just opened, these departures, which will take place almost every hour, are scheduled between 5.57am and 9.57pm from Marseille Saint-Charles, and between 5.34am and 9.10pm from Nice SNCF station. Train ticket sales channels <strong>Zou!<\/strong>the generic name for the transport offer in the southern region, are the following sites <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/sncf-connect-uber-avis-20250317.html\/\">SNCF Connect<\/a><\/strong> and <strong>TER SNCF Sud Provence Alpes C\u00f4te d'Azur<\/strong>points of sale <strong>Zou!<\/strong>in-station vending machines and <strong>approved travel agencies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>We'll be ready. (...) Thanks to this link, travel between these two major cities will be smoother, with a punctual and regular service.<\/p><cite>Transdev<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-les-defis-de-la-reprise-d-une-ligne-a-la-sncf\">The challenges of taking over a line from SNCF<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the delay in the delivery of the trains, <strong>Transdev is said to be encountering other difficulties in its preparations to take over the Marseille-Nice line<\/strong>. And first of all in the recruitment of personnel and more particularly drivers, as the railwaymen currently operating on the line prefer to remain with SNCF because of the many social and salary benefits granted by the national railway company. Last February, Transdev nevertheless stated that it had 77% of the 200 people required to ensure the smooth running of this service, which is being used as a test by the transport group, a subsidiary of Caisse des D\u00e9p\u00f4ts. The group cannot afford to make any mistakes if it wants to win other lots in the calls for tender issued by the regions as part of the <strong>opening up to competition by 2033<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/transdev-marseille-nice-lignes-2026\/\" data-id=\"215277\">Satisfied with its debut on Marseille-Nice, Transdev wants to win other routes in 2026<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"365\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/omneo-premium-sud.jpg\" alt=\"Omneo Premium Sud \u00a9 Alstom-Samuel Dhote\" class=\"wp-image-195675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/omneo-premium-sud.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/omneo-premium-sud-300x168-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Omneo Premium Sud \u00a9 Alstom-Samuel Dhote<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The drivers already recruited and being trained on the first trainset received from Alstom will have to juggle with delays in the delivery of the rolling stock, as well as the diversity of the latter, which in the first few months will comprise Omeo Premium, Regiolis and Region 2N trainsets. Under these conditions, it is not certain that Transdev will be able to meet its targets. <strong>97% of regularity expected<\/strong> compared with 84.7% in 2024, one of the worst results among regional TER networks. \"\u00a0<em>We will be ready<\/em>\" a representative of <strong>Transdev<\/strong>. \"\u00a0<em>With four training sessions already held for drivers, the line is about to get under way with qualified teams ready to guarantee reliable, safe and efficient journeys. Thanks to this link, travel between these two major cities will be smoother, with a punctual and regular service.<\/em>\" the group promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-highlight-box\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-transdev-en-passe-de-devenir-allemand\">Transdev on course to become German<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A shareholder turnaround is underway at <strong>Transdev<\/strong>. Caisse des D\u00e9p\u00f4ts, which owns 66% of the carrier, will sell 32% of the capital to the German group. <strong>Rethmann <\/strong>which currently holds 34% of the shares. Specialising in urban transport in France and abroad, the group, which employs 105,000 people, generated sales of more than \u20ac10 billion in 2024 and a net profit of \u20ac43 million, which more than doubled compared with 2023. In addition to France, its main markets are the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Australia. In 2024, Transdev carried an average of 12.8 million passengers a day on all its networks.
