The Spanish company has just announced the<strong>abandoning the opening of its Toulouse-Barcelona route <\/strong>which was to be operated on a seasonal basis, from April to September. A daily return trip in <strong>AVE - the Spanish high-speed train<\/strong> - between the two cities in 3.5 hours, with Barcelona Sants station providing passengers with optimised connections to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/madrid-azca-castellana-20171204.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Madrid<\/a>Zaragoza, Tarragona, Valencia, Lleida and Castell\u00f3n<\/strong>. This decision was immediately regretted by Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie region, who believes that \".\u00a0<em>the return of a rail link between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/tgv-paris-toulouse-2030-20220222.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Toulouse <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/nouveau-vol-bordeaux-barcelone-volotea-20240926.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Barcelona <\/a>is absolutely essential, for the planet, the economy and the inhabitants of our two regions and our two countries, who are waiting impatiently for it.<\/em>\" . <\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/renfe-menace-fermer-lignes-francaises-20250319.html\/\" data-id=\"194811\">Renfe threatens to close its French lines<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>Is this abandonment, or at best this postponement, a new attempt to bend the French authorities' will after its recent threats to stop its two France-Spain routes, Lyon-Barcelona and Marseille-Madrid? The carrier accuses the French government and the SNCF group of hindering its development in France through excessive administrative and technical constraints. More specifically, on the <strong>Paris-Lyon, which Renfe hoped to open in the summer of 2024 during the Olympic Games.<\/strong>. This while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/sncf-ouigo-espagne-20200923.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SNCF has been operating in Spain since 2021 via its low-cost Ouigo brand<\/a> which now holds more than 20% of the Spanish high-speed market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-question-de-l-homologation-des-ave-au-coeur-du-probleme\">The issue of AVE certification at the heart of the problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong>Renfe <\/strong>which has already carried more than a million passengers in France, has confirmed that it is studying the future of its operations in France because of \"\u00a0<em>the difficulties and successive delays encountered in rolling out its high-speed services<\/em>\" . Renfe regularly criticises France for not opening up to competition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/sncf-train-fonction-ecomobilite-20220914.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alain Krakovitch<\/a>the Director of TGV-Intercit\u00e9s for SNCF Voyageurs, rejects these accusations, assuring us that <strong>the problem is primarily technological<\/strong>. The Spanish company is reportedly having problems getting its new AVE S-106 high-speed trains, assembled by the Spanish group Talgo, approved for use on the French network. It should be noted that it is this manufacturer that the future company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/le-train-grande-vitesse-grand-ouest-20230125.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Le Train has ordered 10 trains<\/a> with the aim of serving the cities of the Grand Ouest region by 2026. Let's hope it doesn't suffer the same setbacks...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/trenitalia-paris-londres-2029-20250408.html\/\" data-id=\"197101\">Trenitalia to launch Paris-London service by
