As part of its expansion in Germany, the IHG group is to roll out a new extended-stay brand hitherto unknown in Europe: Candlewood Suites. Launched in 1995 by Jack DeBoer, one of the pioneers of the extended stay concept and the man behind Residence Inn by Marriott, the brand was taken over by IHG in 2004 and now has more than 520 establishments. Present in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the mid-range brand will take advantage of the extensive franchise agreement between IHG and Novum Hospitality to cross the Atlantic and make its debut in Germany, in Berlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this partnership, the British group's network is in the process of doubling in size in Germany with the conversion of Novum brands to IHG banners, including the joint Holiday Inn - the niu brand. Prior to the launch of Candlewood Suites, this partnership also enabled the launch of another IHG brand in Europe, Garner<\/a>from hotels previously marketed under the Yggotel, Select Hotels and Novum Hotels brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
