The company, which has already been severely weakened by a negative international environment, has now been affected for several weeks by a series of <strong>large-scale strikes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In fact, 27 March kicked off a series of other actions by the unions. The company had to cancel more than a hundred flights on 2, 5, 16 and 19 May. Finnair points out that the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) is calling for <strong>a new industrial action on 30 may<\/strong>. And which paves the way for <strong>two further strike actions on 2 and 4 June<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This industrial action will have the following impact <strong>the cancellation of around 110 flights on Friday 30 May,<\/strong> affecting some 8,000 passengers. Finnair is offering customers of cancelled flights an alternative flight, which they can consult online via the airline's website or app. <strong>Finnair has also announced that passengers on flights on 2 and 4 June can change their travel dates.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For several years now, the Finnish national carrier has been operating in an unfavourable geopolitical climate.<strong> The Covid<\/strong> then <strong>the Russian overflight ban<\/strong> in 2022 have derailed its growth model based on a Europe-Asia hub. <strong>The fall in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/finnair-etats-unis-japon-2025-20241211.html\/\">demand on the North Atlantic<\/a><\/strong> has been added to this complicated context this year.<\/p>\n<p>Although Finnair generated an operating profit of \u20ac114.2 million in 2024, this was down on the previous year (\u20ac191.4 million). Operating profit in 2024 was <strong>a profit of 37.0 million euros<\/strong>254.3 million in 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the first quarter of 2015, Finnair's financial position deteriorated as follows<\/strong>. The Finnish carrier reported an operating loss of 62.6 million euros, compared with a loss of 11.6 million euros for the same period in 2024. The operating result is also in the red for this first quarter at -53.4 million euros.
