{"id":204479,"date":"2025-07-31T11:55:35","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T09:55:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=204479"},"modified":"2025-08-13T12:15:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T10:15:12","slug":"air-france-klm-2nd-quarter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-klm-2nd-quarter","title":{"rendered":"Air France-KLM: favourable 2nd quarter results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the second quarter of 2025, Air France-KLM recorded a sharp rise in operating income to <strong data-start=\"243\" data-end=\"267\">736 million euros<\/strong>223 million more than last year, with a net profit of <strong data-start=\"336\" data-end=\"368\">operating margin of 8.7%<\/strong>. This performance was underpinned by growth in <strong data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"441\">unit revenues<\/strong> (+2.4%) in the passenger, cargo and low-cost (Transavia) sectors. But also because of a remarkably stable unit cost, including fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-des-perspectives-2025-maintenues\">2025 outlook maintained<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The group transported <strong data-start=\"620\" data-end=\"650\">27.3 million passengers<\/strong>an increase of <strong data-start=\"677\" data-end=\"685\">5,9%<\/strong> year-on-year. Traffic and capacity rose by 4.2%, enabling us to maintain a high load factor at <strong data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"809\">87,8%<\/strong>. Revenue per passenger showed very good growth on the following routes <strong data-start=\"864\" data-end=\"883\">transatlantic<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"888\" data-end=\"896\">Asia and the Middle East<\/strong>. As well as for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-nouvelle-premiere-decolle-20250411.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"949\">premium cabins<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the rise in certain costs - airport charges (+41% at Schiphol), wage costs and maintenance costs - the Group's operating margin remained stable. <strong>unit costs rose by only 2.7%<\/strong>partly offset by productivity gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With cash flow (free operating cash flow) that<strong data-start=\"1481\" data-end=\"1515\"> <\/strong>amounts to <strong data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"1542\">1.3 billion, the Group was able to reduce its<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong data-start=\"1574\" data-end=\"1600\">net debt<\/strong> \u00e0 <strong data-start=\"1613\" data-end=\"1638\">7.1 billion euros<\/strong>. While continuing to invest in fleet renewal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Air France-KLM has reconfirmed its objectives for the year. The Group expects <strong>capacity growth from 4 to 5% in seat kilometres <\/strong>offered by the Air France-KLM group, including for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/transavia-offensive-region-20241022.html\/\">Transavia<\/a>. The Group is still aiming for a moderate rise in unit costs. As for <strong>net investments, <\/strong>they should be understood<strong> between 3.2 and 3.4 billion euros.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/short-connection-pass-correspondances-paris-cdg-20250813.html\/\" data-id=\"205287\">Short connection pass: the key to faster connections at Paris CDG<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-une-flotte-toujours-plus-verte\">An ever-greener fleet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Air France-KLM continues to <strong data-start=\"2767\" data-end=\"2807\">accelerated fleet renewal<\/strong>with <strong data-start=\"2819\" data-end=\"2861\">30% of new-generation equipment<\/strong> (A350, B787-10, A320neo, A220, Embraer 195-E2) at 30 June, compared with 23% a year earlier. These aircraft provide <strong data-start=\"2961\" data-end=\"3022\">fuel consumption reduction of up to 25%<\/strong> and a <strong data-start=\"3030\" data-end=\"3069\">noise footprint reduced by 63%<\/strong>. The duo has set an ambitious target of <strong data-start=\"3091\" data-end=\"3127\">80% new-generation aircraft to be added to the fleet by 2030<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong data-start=\"3160\" data-end=\"3180\">greenhouse gas emissions<\/strong>&nbsp;declined by <strong data-start=\"3195\" data-end=\"3203\">1,5%<\/strong> over one year, to 924 gCO\u2082eq per tonne-kilometre transported. This confirms <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-klm-test-label-europeen-20250716.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Air France-KLM's commitment to more sustainable aviation<\/a>. A fine performance against a difficult backdrop. <strong>The Group is facing delays in aircraft deliveries, engine problems and longer flight times due to the geopolitical context.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Air France-KLM is also committed to the production of sustainable fuel (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/saf-carburant-aerien-acceleration-20220930.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SAF<\/a><\/strong>). In June 2025, at the Salon International de l'A\u00e9ronautique et de l'Espace, Air France signed the SAF section of the New Energy Systems contract with the French government and manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With four main objectives:<br>- Set national targets for FAS production and consumption by 2030 and beyond;<br>- Developing competitive financing models on a French and European scale;<br>- Supporting the industrialisation of SAF projects and securing their profitability;<br>- Launch the first advanced bio-SAF and e-SAF production projects before 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/partenariat-air-france-klm-delta-virgin-indigo-20250602.html\/\"
