The company has just presented its Strategic Plan - just initialled by the Board of Directors - which will guide the carrier's investments between <strong>2026 and 2030<\/strong>. During this period, ITA Airways is expected to spread its wings further internationally, and significantly strengthen its position on the international market. <strong>long-haul network<\/strong>. <strong>North America, South America, Asia, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/destination-dakar-ita-airways-20240220.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Africa<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/destination-dakar-ita-airways-20240220.html\/\">\u00a0<\/a>the Italian company is aiming to become a truly global player, and to rebuild its position in the world market. <strong>Rome <\/strong>a leading hub. Without forgetting Europe and the Mediterranean basin. Ambitious though it is, this strategic plan does not ignore the international context. ITA intends to be flexible enough in the construction of its network to cope with the growing uncertainties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>build an airline that combines operational efficiency, service excellence and responsibility to the country and communities it serves<\/p><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>To give itself the means to conquer the world's major business destinations, ITA is logically going to strengthen its fleet. From 2026 onwards, the airline is due to add a new long-haul aircraft every year, while retiring the oldest aircraft. Ultimately, by 2030, the Italian fleet should be close to 100 aircraft, almost all of them new generation. Synergies with the Lufthansa group are the other main thrust of the plan unveiled this week. Joerg Eberhart, CEO of ITA Airways, explains: \" <em>The approved Business Plan enables ITA Airways to continue to grow in a sustainable manner through synergies with the Lufthansa Group. This will create attractive employment opportunities and generate a positive economic impact for the air transport industry.<\/em> \".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/ita-lufthansa-group-20250120.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">increased integration of ITAs within the <strong>Lufthansa Group<\/strong><\/a> how will this work in practice? The plan mentions full integration into <strong>Star Alliance<\/strong> from early 2026. And the second quarter proved very buoyant for the German group, with its <strong>net profit<\/strong> has more than doubled, with net profit reaching 1.01 billion euros. A \"disproportionate increase\" according to management, which points to \"exceptional tax effects and exchange rate effects\". In addition, in the second quarter of 2025, the Lufthansa group increased its <strong>revenues<\/strong> by 3 % compared with the previous year, to reach 10.3 billion euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite these fine performances, the German group has identified a number of sticking points. In addition to geopolitical turbulence, Carsten Spohr points the finger at Europe and delays in deliveries. The boss of the Lufthansa Group explains: \"Although the second quarter was again marked by geopolitical crises and economic uncertainties, we are today confirming our positive outlook for the year as a whole. However, <strong>2025 will remain a year of transformation for us<\/strong>This is because delays in aircraft deliveries, certifications and engine overhauls are continuing. The disproportionate burden placed on European airlines by unilateral EU regulations also continues to put us at a disadvantage in global competition\".<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/aside>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITA Airways has validated - and detailed - its Strategic Plan for the period 2026-2030.
