The Group's seven airlines (Lufthansa, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Edelweiss, ITA and Swiss) are planning more than <strong data-start=\"406\" data-end=\"439\">14,000 weekly connections<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"445\" data-end=\"491\">330 destinations in around 100 countries<\/strong>from its numerous hubs in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the programme essentially involves strengthening existing routes, the group will also be offering a dozen new destinations or routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lufthansa-croissance-long-courrier-mais-reduction-sur-le-court-courrier-en-particulier-en-allemagne\">Lufthansa: long-haul growth but cuts in short-haul business, particularly in Germany<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Lufthansa will above all be strengthening its long-haul services from Frankfurt and Munich, its two German hubs. From Frankfurt, the airline will offer <strong data-start=\"951\" data-end=\"978\">five weekly flights<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"997\">St. Louis<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"999\" data-end=\"1017\">Rio de Janeiro<\/strong>and <strong data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1032\">Cape Town<\/strong>. Services to <strong data-start=\"1051\" data-end=\"1069\">Raleigh-Durham<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1090\">Washington D.C.<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1094\" data-end=\"1105\">Nairobi<\/strong> will move to <strong data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1146\">daily rotation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In Munich, <\/strong>long-haul routes inaugurated for winter 2025\/26 to <strong>S\u00e3o Paulo and Johannesburg will be maintained next summer, with three weekly flights operated by Airbus A350-900.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Europe, strong demand for Scandinavia is leading to an increase in capacity. Lufthansa will launch <strong data-start=\"1216\" data-end=\"1258\">four flights a week Frankfurt-Trondheim<\/strong> in Norway from 1 May 2026. Combined with the service from Munich, this route will provide <strong data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1394\">at least one daily flight<\/strong> to the country's third largest city. Capacity to other Nordic cities, including <strong data-start=\"1479\" data-end=\"1502\">Bergen and Stavanger<\/strong>will also be strengthened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the airline will no longer be serving several European routes. First and foremost <strong>you'll find the Frankfurt-Toulouse line stop<\/strong> as well as Munich-Oviedo and Munich-Tallinn. All three routes will be suspended next spring.<strong> Lufthansa is still present in Toulouse with its daily service to Munich.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soaring operating costs at German airports mean <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/ceo-air-france-lufthansa-inaction-europe\/\"><strong>capacity reductions on domestic routes<\/strong><\/a>. For example, Munich's routes to Berlin, Cologne and D\u00fcsseldorf will be cut by 50 weekly flights from spring onwards. The same applies to Frankfurt-Leipzig and Frankfurt-Nuremberg. The airline says it has not yet taken a decision on Munich-Dresden and Munich-M\u00fcnster\/Osnabr\u00fcck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-swiss-nouvelles-villes-en-europe-et-plus-de-vols-vers-le-japon\">Swiss: new cities in Europe and more flights to Japan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2353\">Swiss<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>will inaugurate flights to Poznan on 29 March<\/strong> (Poland) <strong>and will add Rijeka<\/strong> (Croatia) in July and August from Zurich. The airline will be increasing its frequencies to <strong data-start=\"2516\" data-end=\"2590\">Alicante, Valencia, Manchester, Montpellier, Tirana, Budapest and Venice<\/strong>. To Japan, <strong data-start=\"2607\" data-end=\"2616\">Tokyo<\/strong> will benefit from <strong data-start=\"2632\" data-end=\"2651\">daily flights<\/strong> in April, May and October, and <strong data-start=\"2681\" data-end=\"2706\">five times a week<\/strong> the rest of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-austrian-airlines-mediterranee-et-europe-du-nord\">Austrian Airlines: Mediterranean and Northern Europe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong data-start=\"2799\" data-end=\"2820\">Austrian Airlines<\/strong> is stepping up its offer to the most popular summer destinations - <strong data-start=\"2893\" data-end=\"2919\">Greece, Spain, Italy<\/strong> - by adding frequencies and new stopovers. The company is also continuing to develop its <strong data-start=\"3030\" data-end=\"3049\">\"coolcations<\/strong>in particular <strong data-start=\"3061\" data-end=\"3080\">Sylt (Germany), Edinburgh<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3088\" data-end=\"3104\">Lofoten Islands (Norway)<\/strong>in response to the success of Summer 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ita-airways-retour-a-heathrow-et-plus-de-loisirs\">ITA Airways: back to Heathrow and more leisure activities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ITA Airways<\/strong> will return to <strong>twice-daily service from <\/strong><strong data-start=\"3225\" data-end=\"3245\">London Heathrow<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>from Rome Fiumicino<\/strong>. Its full schedule will be announced shortly, but the airline is already planning more direct flights from <strong data-start=\"3420\" data-end=\"3428\">Rome<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3432\" data-end=\"3448\">Milan Linate<\/strong> to the Italian islands, Spain and Greece for the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-brussels-airlines-un-18\u1d49-destination-en-afrique-subsaharienne\">Brussels Airlines: an 18\u1d49 destination in sub-Saharan Africa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong data-start=\"3579\" data-end=\"3600\">Brussels Airlines<\/strong> is strengthening its position as the airline to Africa with the opening of <strong data-start=\"3670\" data-end=\"3686\">Kilimanjaro<\/strong> at <strong data-start=\"3690\" data-end=\"3703\">June 2026<\/strong>served <strong data-start=\"3714\" data-end=\"3739\">twice a week<\/strong>. Flights to <strong data-start=\"3755\" data-end=\"3767\">Freetown<\/strong> (Sierra Leone) will be increased from five to <strong data-start=\"3803\" data-end=\"3834\">six weekly rotations<\/strong>. In Europe, the company will be strengthening its services to <strong data-start=\"3886\" data-end=\"3924\">Spain, Portugal and Italy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-edelweiss-plus-de-long-courriers-loisirs\">Edelweiss: more long-haul leisure flights<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Swiss company <strong data-start=\"3995\" data-end=\"4008\">Edelweiss<\/strong> will launch on <strong data-start=\"4017\" data-end=\"4029\">Windhoek<\/strong> (Namibia) <strong data-start=\"4040\" data-end=\"4065\">twice a week<\/strong> from June 2026. It will also increase its capacity to <strong data-start=\"4114\" data-end=\"4146\">Seattle, Punta Cana and Tampa<\/strong>.
