First of all, could you introduce us to your company, Onepark, which is not always well known to business travellers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

David Vanden Born -<\/strong> In a few words, Onepark is the European leader in online parking reservations. We enable motorists to compare, reserve and pay for their parking spaces, whether in advance or at the last minute, but always at the best price. In practice, we work with two distinct but complementary types of car park. On the one hand, we work with public car parks, mainly located near stations and airports or in city centres, and on the other, we work with private car parks, mainly hotel car parks, which we make accessible to the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the backing of several major players in the travel industry such as Accor, ADP and Keolis, your capital structure is quite unique. Can you tell us more about it?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

D. V. B. - <\/strong>In fact, we are one of the only companies in France to be almost entirely financed by leading industrial companies, all leaders in their respective sectors and all actively involved in the world of travel. These include Keolis, the public transport subsidiary of the SNCF group, which also owns Effia car parks, Accor on the hotel side and the A\u00e9roports de Paris group, which operates 48,000 parking spaces at Paris CDG and Orly. These first three players acquired a stake in Onepark between 2016 and 2018, for a combined total of around \u20ac30 million. The underlying rationale is the same - to give us access to underused car park spaces - but with different objectives. For Keolis and ADP, the idea is to optimise the occupancy rate of their car parks and maximise revenues by opening up to a wider customer base. For Accor, the aim is to develop a new source of revenue for their hotels by selling their parking spaces to outside customers. To give you an idea, the Accor group already generates nearly \u20ac5 million in turnover every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your business model based on?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

D. V. B. -<\/strong> We operate exactly like a hotel marketplace or online travel agency. The customer pays on Onepark and we then transfer the turnover to the car park that welcomed the customer, minus our commission. We do not pre-purchase stock. We are simply a digital showcase that highlights the car parks on offer and maximises their occupancy. When it comes to price management, there are two possibilities. Either the car park is a professional operator such as ADP, Effia or Indigo, and we distribute their rates via our information systems. Or, in the case of private car parks, particularly hotel car parks, we manage the prices according to what we think is best to extract maximum revenue from these under-utilised assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You describe yourself as the European leader. In a few figures, what does Onepark's offer represent?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

D. V. B. - <\/strong>Since our launch around ten years ago, we have rapidly become the leader in this nascent market. We now operate in 500 towns and cities, with just over 200,000 parking spaces in 3,500 car parks in 8 European countries. Today, we book more than 350,000 hours of parking every day, generating sales of \u20ac30 million by 2024, and have built up a community of 2.7 million users. The majority of our customers are leisure travellers, who often have to use their cars to get to the airport or station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You recently raised funds from TotalEnergies. As part of this partnership, Fleet cardholders will be able to take advantage of Onepark's services. So you're turning your attention to the needs of business travellers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

D. V. B. - <\/strong>In fact, the first three rounds of funding concerned the supply side, i.e. car parks. With TotalEnergies, we're turning our attention to demand, particularly from business customers. We're even going to change dimension by almost doubling our customer base to pass the 5 million mark, thanks to the 2.3 million Fleet cardholders. Published by TotalEnergies, this multi-service card is used by several hundred thousand companies in France, and was already accepted in a thousand car parks in France. Thanks to our partnership, the Fleet card now gives access to the 3,500 car parks in our network. And this card, which was only used to pay for parking, can now be used to reserve spaces. For Fleet cardholders, who are all professionals who travel regularly, this new use is very interesting. Especially as they will also be able to use Onepark on a personal basis, to park in Paris as well as near a concert hall in Barcelona or a theatre in Berlin. Our solution allows several means of payment to be used: the Fleet card for journeys governed by the company's travel policy and personal means of payment for private use in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
