It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, an architectural marvel that blends the splendours of the Renaissance and Baroque with Art Nouveau, with just enough contemporary touch to prove that it doesn't just live in a glorious past. Prague is an incredible laboratory of experiments<\/a> As diverse as they are sophisticated for event organisers. It is a journey through time, dotted with magical, often unusual, and unforgettable locations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Prague is establishing itself as one of Europe's most alluring MICE destinations, thanks to a rare combination of historical riches, architectural elegance, and modern event infrastructure. The Czech capital thus offers an immersive experience, where history constantly serves as the backdrop for event travel.<\/p>\n

Art Nouveau, an asset<\/strong><\/h2>\n

For example, with the Municipal House (Obecn\u00ed D\u016fm), a true Art Nouveau gem. The impressive building occupies a central place in the country's history, as it was the scene of the proclamation of Czechoslovakia's independence in 1918. Today, this building combines historical prestige with event versatility. The sumptuous interiors, decorated by the greatest artists of the time, including Alphonse Mucha, serve as prestigious incentive venues: in addition to the incredible Art Nouveau cafe open to the public, the majestic Smetana Hall hosts plenary conferences, concerts, and gala dinners. The total capacity of the Municipal House is 885 participants and up to 230 people in one of the five restaurants and cafes with dedicated spaces. The more traditional brewery is suitable for less formal meetings and cocktails.<\/p>\n

And as the artist Mucha is an iconic figure who is encountered everywhere in Prague - be it on house facades, in museums or public spaces, why not also organise an event at the Mucha Museum, just a stone's throw from the Municipal House?<\/p>\n

This relatively new museum is run by the Art Nouveau master's family and the foundation of the same name. You can even be welcomed by members of the Mucha family during an event. The museum, located in the beautiful baroque Savarin Palace, offers an intimate experience, surrounded by posters, drawings, canvases, and personal objects retracing the painter's life and work. This venue is particularly suited for small incentive groups \u2013 of up to 80 people \u2013 with a dedicated floor offering three to four meeting spaces. They also offer catering options.<\/p>\n

Between Baroque and Communist Brutalism<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Baroque Prague also offers itself as a prestigious setting for events. And one of the most beautiful places in Prague is certainly the prestigious Lobkowicz Palace, located within Prague Castle. This 16th-century Renaissance palace is unique, as it is the only private building in the complex, having returned to the Lobkowicz family in the early 2000s.<\/p>\n

Today, it's first and foremost a museum housing an exceptional collection of paintings, notably works by Bruegel and Canaletto, in a sumptuous Baroque setting of trompe-l'\u0153il paintings, stucco, and heavy candelabra.<\/p>\n

But it is also a prestigious venue for MICE events. The palace is indeed ideal for organising conferences, receptions, and dinners, with a maximum capacity of 280 people. Two elements make an event at Lobkowicz Palace even more exceptional: an oenology course followed by tastings of Lobkowicz estate wines; and the terrace adjacent to the concert hall, which offers one of the most extraordinary views of Prague. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Another setting in total contrast to the previous one, but which is also situated within a historic structure. The M\u00e1j House of Fun, opened in 2024, has indeed reinvented one of Prague\u2019s two major department stores. M\u00e1j, opened in 1975, conceptualised everything that the communist era venerated in architectural brutalism. The second-largest department store in communist Czechoslovakia with its 10,700 m\u00b2 of retail space and nearly 1,000 employees, it remained inactive from the 2000s onwards. Its new owners have transformed it into \"M\u00e1j House of Fun\", a complex with an exuberant contemporary facade that now houses a shopping gallery and, on the upper floors, an immersive space dedicated to entertainment and technology.<\/p>\n

Interactive installations, an immersive journey through Prague to travel through time, digital experiences, and gaming zones make it a particularly suitable setting for team-building activities and informal events. With its terrace \u2013 also offering an exceptional view of the city \u2013 and its large dining area, the venue easily accommodates up to 400 people. Full privatisation of the Maj offers a capacity for 2,000 people.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For those seeking large-scale events, the Prague Exhibition Grounds are a major asset. It comprises several pavilions and structures whose constructions also serve as a lesson in the history of modern architecture. Here you'll find everything from the Industrial Palace of the 1891 Jubilee Exhibition.<\/p>\n

The fair was inaugurated in 1891 by Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria, with Emperor Franz Joseph visiting the fair at a later date. Reflecting the development of Czechoslovakia under the Habsburgs, the most iconic building, reminiscent of the history of the exhibition centre, is the Industrial Palace. With its glass roofs and metal facades, it is reminiscent of the Crystal Palace in London. Currently undergoing renovation and modernisation following a fire in its left wing, it is due to reopen this year (but most likely in early 2027). It will offer an additional prestigious structure, to be added to the dozen or so spaces (pavilions) currently available.<\/p>\n

Czech gastronomy is gaining ground<\/strong><\/h2>\n

With a capacity for 1,500 participants, the Exhibition Centre allows for the organisation of trade fairs, congresses, and conferences, incorporating numerous possibilities for incentive activities related to arts or gastronomy.<\/p>\n

It is important to highlight that the latter has become a key asset. This was not always the case, as traditional Czech cuisine was ignored for years due to its relative lack of sophistication and the absence of exceptional restaurants. This is no longer the case at all today. In the last decade, Prague's cuisine has reinvented itself, becoming lighter and more creative. The Michelin Guide for the Czech Republic recommends 45 restaurants in and around Prague, awarding one or two stars to 6 establishments and \"BIB Gourmands\" to 7 others. Often in a contemporary setting, young chefs are now redefining Czech cuisine, also offering private spaces for MICE groups. This is the case at \"420 Restaurant\" opposite the old town hall, \"\u010cerven\u00fd Jelen\" (\"Red Deer\"), the Municipal House restaurant, and the restaurant at the brand new luxury boutique hotel, Sir Prague Hotel, which offers a full menu for groups.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Through these various sites, Prague demonstrates its unique ability to combine heritage and innovation in a coherent and attractive MICE offering. It appeals to organisers looking for a destination that is both classic and contemporary, with incredible creativity that allows for exceptional events. And all of this, in what will always remain one of the most iconic cities in the old continent.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Prague practicalities:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To get there<\/strong> It is possible to travel by train via Germany or Austria. Prague is connected by air to Paris CDG (Air France and Smartwings), Paris Orly (Transavia), Basel-Mulhouse (easyJet), Beauvais (Ryanair), Bordeaux (easyJet), Lyon (easyJet), Marseille (Ryanair), Nantes (easyJet and Volotea), Nice (Smartwings and easyJet), Toulouse (Smartwings). But also Brussels (Brussels Airlines and Smartwings), Charleroi (Ryanair), Geneva (easyJet) and Luxembourg (Luxair).\u00a0<\/p>\n

To stay<\/strong>\u00a0Prague has 52 hotel chains present, equating to almost 140 establishments. The total number of rooms reaches 45,000, including independent hotels.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To move<\/strong> The Convention Bureau offers the Prague Visitors Pass, which allows unlimited use of all public transport in Prague and provides numerous discounts or free entry to the city's monuments and museums.\u00a0<\/p>\n
