Hyatt is continuing its expansion in Italy with three forthcoming hotels set to join its existing six properties. The Park Hyatt Milan will soon have a luxurious counterpart in Sicily, in Taormina, boasting a 121-suite hotel offering views of Etna and the Ionian Sea from private terraces. Expected in 2028, the Park Hyatt Taormina will be preceded by two openings in Rome this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hyatt Regency Rome Central, which opened its reservations from 1 September, will see the US group's predominantly business brand set up shop very close to Termini station, within the walls of the former Radisson Blu Es. Fully renovated and redesigned, this 238-room hotel and suite property caters to the bleisure trend with its rooftop pool and Pool Bar, or its Asian-inspired restaurant Niroma, and at the same time its meeting space of over 1000 m\u00b2, including a modular room that can accommodate up to 400 people, boardrooms and meeting rooms. All of which is complemented by outdoor spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still in the Italian capital, in place of thethe former headquarters of the Italian Communist Party<\/a>, the luxury and lifestyle brand Thompson is reinventing this 1930s building near the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia into a trendy hotel comprising 69 rooms and three dining areas, including a restaurant on the sixth floor inspired by the Italian Riviera, as well as a rooftop cocktail bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Hyatt is expanding its Italian portfolio with 428 rooms and suites, the IHG group has just reached a milestone by increasing its offering to over 50 establishments, including 32 hotels already open and 20 others in development. \" Reaching this milestone reflects the incredible momentum we have in Italy and the growing confidence that owners are placing in our brands and our business<\/em> \" , said Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within this framework, the group has just unveiled three new signings for openings in Alberobello, Turin, and Milan. And even a double opening for Italy's economic capital, as it involves an establishment combining the Crowne Plaza business brand with the Staybridge Suites long-stay brand. Located in the creative NoLo district \u2013 for \u201cNorth of Loreto\u201d \u2013 , 500 metres from the M1 metro line and eight stops from the Duomo, this \u201ccombo\u201d expected in January 2027 is the result of the conversion of the former Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Milano<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These latter, rebranded as Staybridge Suites, will mark the debut of IHG's long-stay brand in Milan, while Crowne Plaza will strengthen its presence in the city in addition to its hotels near Malpensa and Linate airports and the Crowne Plaza Milan City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Crowne Plaza \/ Staybridge Suites Milan NoLo caters to both leisure and business travellers for short or long stays, with a swimming pool and fitness facilities, several restaurants and bars, and 1,000 m\u00b2 of MICE space spread across eight rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time new mid-range brand<\/a> Garner, who recently made its debut in the Italian capital with the Garner Hotel Rome Aurelia, has signed a second property and will appear in the heart of Turin from mid-next year. Located opposite Torino Porta Nuova station, the Garner Hotel Turin Porta Nuova will offer 57 rooms, ideally located for business travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the Italian expansion will be completed in 2028 with a 129-key lifestyle hotel in Puglia, the Hotel Indigo Apulia Alberobello, near the UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its trulli.
