With the same objective despite different approaches: to offer more fare choices and improve the premium passenger experience.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"b5nmp8\" data-start=\"398\" data-end=\"460\"><strong>Delta democratises its premium cabins with Basic fares<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"462\" data-end=\"734\">Starting with Delta Air Lines. The latter is extending its fare segmentation strategy by introducing Basic fares across all its premium cabins. Travellers can now book Delta First, Delta Premium Select, and Delta One at a more attractive entry-level price, but the downside is that fewer services are offered.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"1052\">This evolution is a continuation of the new fare structure launched last year, following the introduction of Basic fares in Delta Comfort class. Business class passengers now have three fare levels \u2013 Basic, Classic, and Extra \u2013 depending on the desired degree of flexibility and benefits.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1243\">Delta explains that this new fare structure offers travellers the option to only pay for the services they deem essential.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1521\" data-end=\"1749\">The service and amenities in Business Class Basic fare remain the same on board as for passengers paying the Classic or Extra fare: the same seat, the same meals, the same cabin service, and the same entertainment system.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1751\" data-end=\"2139\">In return, however, they forgo several ground benefits and greater flexibility. Seat allocation only takes place after check-in, baggage allowances are reduced, SkyMiles accrual is lower, and upgrades, whether free or paid, are not permitted. Changes or cancellations are also subject to fees. Passengers no longer have access to the Delta One priority check-in service, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/delta-salons-aeroport-2024\/\">access to Delta One lounges<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2141\" data-end=\"2395\">For this final performance, travellers will however be able to access Delta Sky Club or Delta One lounges if they have another access right, for example via a Sky Club membership or an eligible bank card.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2591\" data-end=\"2781\">As a transitional measure, Delta will maintain lounge access for Basic Business ticket holders until <strong data-start=\"2704\" data-end=\"2723\">18 January 2027<\/strong>, before the full application of the new restrictions.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>United enhances its Economy Plus class<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2826\" data-end=\"3073\">For its part, United Airlines is focusing on cabin innovation for long-haul travellers. The airline is introducing a new row of Economy Plus seats on its future Airbus A321XLRs, offering more personal space.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3075\" data-end=\"3582\">This configuration includes two separate seats with a central space deliberately left empty, a set-up that curiously recalls \"business classes\" on short-haul flights in Europe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3075\" data-end=\"3582\">Instead of the middle seat, United will install a large, fixed tray table with cup holders, extending from armrest to armrest. Passengers in the window and aisle seats will therefore benefit from more shoulder and elbow room, in addition to the approximately eight centimetres of extra legroom already offered in Economy Plus.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3584\" data-end=\"3790\">This new option will be marketed by the end of the year across all 50 Airbus A321XLRs ordered by United. The airline is also considering its deployment on other aircraft types. United states that it will, in fact, be the only American airline to offer this configuration. This innovation complements the project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/united-airlines-economy-sleeper\/\">United Relaxation Row,<\/a> recently unveiled, which will transform certain rows of Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft into true relaxation spaces from 2027.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3584\" data-end=\"3790\">What will be the cost of this option? There is no information at the moment, but United promises that they will communicate about it soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4066\" data-end=\"4377\" data-is-last-node=\"\"
