Attendance and average revenue per room (RePAR) are down in the French hotel industry, according to figures published on 2 March by Deloitte and its subsidiary In Extenso for January 2012. \"The slowdown in growth, already seen at the end of 2011, is confirmed at the start of this year\", summarises the report, which highlights stagnant performance, and even double-digit falls in RevPAR in some conurbations. At national level, the mid-range and top-of-the-range segments are down both in terms of occupancy rates (-0.6% and -3.5% respectively) and RevPAR (-0.8% and -1.8%). The negative picture is qualified by regional disparities: the luxury hotel sector is progressing in Paris and on the C\u00f4te d'Azur, both in terms of occupancy rate and average price. Similarly, Avignon, Dijon and Le Havre are all reporting double-digit growth in sales, while Lille, Lyon and Montpellier are experiencing a downturn.<\/p>\n
