The February figures published by Deloitte confirm the fall already recorded for January. \"The downward trend is confirmed and extends to the economy and super-economy categories\", says the report, which adds: \"Companies are in the process of cutting costs, and business travel is bearing the brunt of this\". The poor results are particularly noticeable in the provinces, where several major conurbations are seeing double-digit falls in passenger numbers, notably Lyon, Montpellier and Toulouse. Conversely, demand is still strong in Paris, from budget hotels to top-of-the-range establishments. Only luxury hotels recorded a slight fall in occupancy (-3.81TP3Q) and RevPAR (-6.41TP3Q), although the start of the year had been particularly buoyant for the market.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
