The challenge set by the City of Buenos Aires at the end of the 1990s has been met with flying colours. The former docks of Buenos Aires, where only rats and bad boys could be found after its decline in the 20th century, have become one of the most fashionable places in the Argentine capital. The new towers are rising higher and higher. Large companies, expatriates and wealthy Porte\u00f1os flock here. 40,000 trees refresh this city within a city, where private residences and offices rub shoulders with museums, nightclubs, caf\u00e9s, luxury hotels and even a university set on the edge of a vast nature reserve populated by rare birds. An eclectic mix symbolising real success? In 2001, the district had a population of 406. Today, it is close to 10,000...
