Transport infrastructure is set to benefit from the government's stimulus plan, which recently announced a vast project to develop the rail network. In all, almost 10,000 km of track will be laid across the country, which currently has around 30,000, with a view to catching up. The high point of this new railway ambition is the high-speed line project between Sao Paulo and Rio, which has been blocked for a long time, and which the government believes should become a priority objective. The TAV (Trem de Alta Velocidade) project would link Brazil's two main economic centres in less than two hours. A dynamic that runs counter to Russia, which is also getting ready to organise the Olympic Games and the World Cup, but which seems to be in the spotlight. <a
