Average hotel rates in Paris have risen dramatically in the autumn of 2012: after a sharp fall in August, prices are now sharply back on the rise, with an increase of almost 50%. This is the conclusion of the trivago Hotel Price Index (tHPI), which shows an average overnight stay of \u20ac218. Apart from the necessarily distorted comparison with a particularly affordable August, there is also an upward trend over one year, with rates 7% more expensive than in September 2011. Other European cities are also experiencing the same back-to-school phenomenon, with increases close to 50% in Berlin, Brussels and Rome, while London has already entered the post-Olympic era. The British capital saw fares fall by 11% compared with August.<\/p>\n
