Much later, I was contacted by Steria Germany to develop the administrative and financial department of its new subsidiary in Hamburg. Contrary to stereotypes, the people of Hamburg are neither cold nor aloof. They may be reserved at first contact, but they are capable of quickly forging professional and friendly links.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What advice would you give to a French company looking to set up in Germany?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>J. F. <\/strong>- Do not underestimate the differences in mentalities and ways of working. Be professional, punctual and prepared. But the French are less disorganised than many Germans think, and the Germans less rigorous and rigid than is often claimed. German companies are suffering, especially <br \/>This is an opportunity to be seized.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>In what areas can a French company contribute its expertise to the city?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>J. F.<\/strong> - Airbus is the largest French company in Hamburg. <br \/>However, it is not a major industrial city, but a city of trade.  In addition to logistics, the main areas of activity are advertising, renewable energies and the media.
