Hotel Indigo has chosen Paris to celebrate its tenth anniversary, at the same time opening its 60th establishment worldwide (and 17th in Europe). As a gift, its parent company, the IHG Group, gave it a prime location: rue Edouard VII, a stone's throw from the Olympia, in the heart of a quiet, pedestrianised yet busy area, where the surrounding buildings are home to law and consultancy firms and a Servcorp business centre.<\/p>\n

\u00a0For the first establishment in France of its lifestyle brand, IHG commissioned Jean-Philippe Nuel, who had already designed the refurbishment of the InterContinental Hotel-Dieu Marseille for the British group, to design a hotel that reflects its immediate surroundings. Through the photos that line the corridors, the d\u00e9cor highlights the areas surrounding the hotel: the Op\u00e9ra, La Madeleine, Place Vend\u00f4me, and the boulevards Haussmann and des Capucines. In the 57 rooms, large visuals evoke theatre sets, highlighting the world of ballet, lyrical performances and the rooftops of Paris. With light grey parquet flooring and a large walk-in shower, Hotel Indigo Paris - Opera also offers the very latest fundamentals of the trendy IHG brand.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Formerly a Citadines apartment-hotel until its transformation into a boutique hotel, the establishment has retained its sense of space from its former life. The rooms are larger than those in traditional hotels, ranging from 26 m2 to 86 m2. Of the hotel's 12 suites, the seven located on the sixth and top floor are attic rooms, adding to this atypical charm with views over the rooftops of Paris. In terms of technology, travellers on the move can connect their tablets and computers to the big screen. WiFi is included in the room rate, which averages around 300 euros.<\/p>\n

\u00a0When it comes to dining, Hotel Indigo is also playing a very Parisian card, seasoning tartare in all its forms. Supervised by Christophe Raoux, chef of the famous Caf\u00e9 de La Paix next door, the Tartares restaurant - as it is called - aims to be part of the life of this very business district, thanks in particular to its outdoor terrace. The establishment has teamed up with Les Caves Legrand, one of the oldest and most famous wine merchants in Paris, to create the menu for the adjoining wine bar. As Hotel Indigo focuses on individual business and leisure travellers, the hotel has no meeting rooms, an absence compensated where necessary by the facilities offered by its neighbour, Servcorp's \u00c9douard VII conference centre.<\/p>\n
