And with good reason. It announces the introduction of <strong>flat-rate fares for taxi journeys between Paris and Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly airports<\/strong>. The measure will come into force in just under a year. <strong>March 1st<\/strong> 2016 to be precise - and we still don't know how much this package will cost, which should be organised according to four tariffs. But it does represent a minor revolution in the urban travel market, which has been turned upside down for several months by the arrival of VTCs (chauffeur-driven tourism vehicles). The government has not forgotten the latter, announcing: \"The ban on 'electronic marauding', consistent with the plan to implement Open Data for taxis, is confirmed for VTCs, motorised two- or three-wheel vehicles and taxis outside their pick-up zone\". The press release also points out that \"the French Constitutional Council has ruled that VTCs must be able to use both time-based and flat-rate pricing\". Other measures unveiled on Thursday include the introduction of a <strong>flat-rate charge applied when approaching a reserved taxi<\/strong>and <strong>the end of various supplements <\/strong>currently applied. Only high-capacity vehicles - with a minimum of five seats in addition to the driver - will be able to charge a higher rate.\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Taxi journeys
