The travel search engine has drawn up various rankings, analysing country by country the free wi-fi offers available to travellers in airports. Among other things, it shows that France is being beaten by Spain (76%) and above all Finland in terms of the proportion of airports offering free wi-fi access. In fact, all 22 Finnish international airports offer not only free but also unlimited access to wireless connectivity, compared with 48% at French hubs. It is worth noting here that European airports have made great efforts on the Wi-Fi front, given that four years ago there were only two Finnish airports 'connected', nine in France, and just one hub on the other side of the Pyrenees.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, France boasts the most connected airports (40), well ahead of Spain (28). In mainland France, out of 72 airports, 25 hubs do not offer Wi-Fi access. Today, connectivity seems to have become the rule, if not the norm, for welcoming business travellers in the best possible conditions. For example, 82 % of European Union airports offering a free Wi-Fi connection do not impose a time limit. Connectivity is limited to one hour in 17 % of cases, and a small minority of airports (1%) offer access for less than 60 minutes, according to the Liligo study, which also highlights the rise of a differentiated model, with the introduction of a Premium service, for which a fee is charged, enabling passengers to benefit from a much higher speed than the free Wi-Fi offer. Finally, at the bottom of the league, Liligo points to Greece as having the lowest ratio (13%) of airports offering free wi-fi, with Germany in 5th place in this 'bad pupil' ranking with 27%.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A study published by Liligo compares what European airports have to offer in terms of free Wi-Fi.
