While companies may see it as a productivity booster, this blurring of the lines between professional and private life - what the new language of business travel has labelled \"blurring\" - is problematic in more ways than one. \" <em>Disconnection is now at the heart of concerns about health in the workplace.<\/em> \"says Edouard Mongrand, marketing and sales manager and co-founder of ED2. \" <em>The lack of separation between professional and private life is a fact of life, with the direct consequence of potentially significant stress. And this stress is the main detrimental factor in companies today.<\/em> \". The well-being of the business traveller is not the only issue identified by ED2, which points out that hyperconnection can also have a direct cost for the company, through roaming charges that inflate the telephone bill when sending text messages, making premium rate calls or connecting to the Internet abroad.<\/p>\n<p>This is the background to the launch of Calldoor, a new tool that enables companies to control the use of smartphones. In practical terms, companies can set limits on phone use online, define the time slots concerned, and then restrict calls to certain numbers - mobile phones or contacts beginning with 08, for example.
